Description
Albion is the historical and poetic name of England, but it is also a 100% Lanaudière brewery. At the Albion, British-inspired, locally brewed beers are offered, all in a warm and relaxed atmosphere. Know that an immense care is brought as much to the brewing as to the service of our beers. We have the artisan brewer's license, which means that our beers are available only at our establishment.

A slight hazed, golden-amber colour with a bubbly off-white cap, average retention, leaving a few soapy lacing spots. Big fruity aromas with a blend of tropical and stone fruits. Hints of raisins and plums (might be less fresh -forgot about this one in my stash). A smooth, wet mouthfeel with just enough dryness in the finish, retaining some good juiciness. With all of the tropical fruitiness, a nice touch of resin in the flavours. Gets quite hazy near the end with particles going to the bottom. A nice juicy, tropical NEIPA with resinous notes.

Lightly hazed, golden colour with an amber hue, a bubbly white cap, decent stay and some soapy lacing spots. Definite pineapples from the El Dorado hops, in the nose. Some other tropical, stone fruit notes, all blended in there. The taste balances the pineapples with the other fruity notes. A wet mouthfeel with a little dryness building in the finish. Not a bad NEIPA - if you like the El Dorado pineapple touch with tropical fruitiness.

Dark amber-brown, no head. This is interesting. The aroma has a fair bit of toastiness, light fruitiness, some alcohol. This doesn't have a lot of bitterness, but it's certainly got a fair bit of malt, alcohol. The malt is toasty, but also has some old ale type oiliness, dried hops, raisins, some marmaladey accents. Light tartness in the finish as well. Described as barley wine, but it's an old ale for me.

250mL bottle, pours a deep dark brown with a small beige head. Aroma is full of bready caramel and a touch of toasted nuts. Flavour is malty but dry, with lots of dry bready caramel, some toffee, fermented out brown sugar, and a touch of toasted nuts. Finishes dry, moderately bitter, a touch tart, and yet still very malty. Very odd. Not bad, but doesn’t hit the bulls eye for me.

375mL bottle. Pours very dark brown with a minimal beige head. Old grains, dried fruit, and some boozy notes on the nose. Flavour has dusty malts, old grains, dry caramel, tangy dried fruits; a very dry finish. This is very odd for a barley wine, but I really enjoy it.
