Small can (thx, Gerry!) Appearance: clear pale copper with huge, a bit tan head Aroma: piney hops and some caramel Taste: piney bitterness with caramel notes. Finishes harsh with hoppy bitterness and some strange biscuity malt notes Overall: meh

Aroma of soft barley, has a murky dark brown body with no foam. Flavour is weak barley and nothing else. Very weak and watery mouthfeel. This is a surprisingly substandard stout.

Aroma is mellow malts mixed with vague hops. Has an okay foam on top of a clear deeper copper body. Flavour is weak hops and malts, all rather uninteresting. A little thin on the mouth. Boring at best.

Has a detergenty ginger aroma, cloudy gold body with a bit of foam. Flavour is mediocre ginger with some odd wheat grain notes. Full enough on the mouth. Rather meh. --- Beer merged from original tick of French Ginger on 02 Nov 2019 at 16:00 - Score: Appearance - 4 | Aroma - 5 | Flavor - 5 | Texture - 4 | Overall - 4. Original review text: Has medium ginger aroma akin to floor cleaner, there's weak foggish yellow body and really modest foam. Flavour is harsh ginger and nothing else. The ginger still somehow manages to be watery. This is bad and boring.

Draught at Parallel 49, Vancouver
Black colour. The aroma is moderately earthy and roasty, some glue. Damn! It tastes like dirty rinsing water and old socks, it's weak, it's watery, it's perfumy (some artificial vanilla or almond scent). Weak finish. No traces of Brett.
Very bad.

Ginger on the nose. Clearish gold with a decent white head. Ginger and and nice light body. Solid.

Dull blonde. Not much head. Lots of ginger on the nose, and very gingery on the palate. Thin. Lacks any sort of malt depth. Nothing to carry the ginger, so it's just ginger. The problem, of course, is that ginger loves sugar, and needs it to be at its best.

On tap at 12 Kings (not at the brewery - I'm not that desperate), pours a clear blonde with a small white head. Aroma brings out rather intense spicy ginger, with some spicy yeast buried. Flavour is gingery and floral, with a rather soapy character and spicy ginger. Not sure what prompted this concoction. It's not terrible, but not overly pleasant either.
