6oz pour at the brewery. Pours murky pale gold with a white head. Salt and lime on the nose. Flavour is tart, gentle brine, some lime citrus. Well-constructed with a good balance of flavours. Nice.

6oz pour at the brewery. Pours almost clear copper with a white head. Grassy and crisp cracker malts on the nose. Flavour has herbal grass, nice bite, crisp malts, malts are a touch darker than a regular pilsner. Very nice.

Opaque, thin. Big fresh peachy aroma, with some pear, gooseberry. Sweet, and with a lot of alcohol. This has some of the good fruits from the aroma, but the alcohol isn't super complex.

Very dark, not much head. Lots of whiskey on the nose with deep brown sugars, toffee. A bit flat on the palate, some barrel heat, not all that refined, but this is definitely a step in the right direction. So I guess a barrel version of the window to a dark room?

Medium brown, big coffee, full body, light vanilla. Not bad. The base beer is what it is and the adjuncts are probably not enough either.

Medium brown. Big toasted hazelnut nose, some chocolate, lots of hazelnut on the palate. Honestly more ferrero rocher than biscotti (which I always associate with almond, correctly or not) to me but I’ll take it, because that light chocolate, coffee and big hazelnut works for me.

Slight haze. Dark amber, with a thin head. Good dose of smoke on the nose, with some caramel sweetness. On the palate, I like the beech...weyermann I assume...the malts are coming across more toffeeish and then the alcohol slides in. While I'd prefer more malt richness, it's still worth a seidla or two.

On tap at The Magnet, pours a deep dark amber : mahogany with a small off-white head. Aroma has rich caramel malts, some dark dried fruits, and a tiny hint of smoke. Flavour is much smokier, with rich caramel malt, bready notes, a touch of dark fruits, and a lovely peated malt character. Deep, complex, peated malts. This is most excellent.

5oz pour at The Magnet. Pours clear amber with a white head. Tons of ashy charcoal and burnt caramel on the nose. Flavour has a dry caramel malt base with an excellent smoky quality that is light but strong. This is very well done.
