Luppolo (pronounced loop-o-lo) means hops in Italian. We chose an Italian name due to the Italian heritage of two of our owners and because the values associated with Italian culture–quality, craftsmanship, community and family–are central to our vision.

On tap at Luppolo, pours a cloudy, muddled yellow with a small white head. Aroma has some candied fruits, melony hops, and light hopburn. Flavour is much the same, with a strange candied fruit expression to the hop combo, gentle hopburn, a strange yeast expression, and finishing bitter and semi-sweet. Odd yeast expression that doesn’t work for me, but at least it’s not chalky. Okay.

473ml can. Pours a hazy blonde with a small, fizzy, short lived, white head that fully dissipates. Aroma of grainy wheat malt, lemon peel, ginger and herbal hops. Sweet flavour of grainy wheat malt, lemon zest, ginger, light Brett and herbal hops in a dry, sour Lacto finish. Light body with a watery texture and soft carbonation. Refreshing and crushable.

16oz @ Alex's.
Aroma: caramel malt, some dark fruits, and a bit of smoke.
Taste: along the same lines, noticeably bitter, couldn't find the barrel-aging evidence.
Overall: still quite pleasant.

Can, enormous thanks Fil for bringing this one to Plzeň and sharing with us! Not sure this is exactly the same as the 2020 Luminosa with Brett, leaving it up to the Canadian admins to decide.
Hazy full yellow body, off-white head. Tart white wine notes in the aroma, esters, bit creamy and sweetish. Lean, dry taste, white wine, bit floral, some pineapple notes, peppery, but hugely bitter and astringent in the finish sadly, bringing the whole experience down a lot.

Can, thx Fil for bringing it back from Canada and sharing. Sweetish lean caramelly aroma, low vegetal touches. Dry, vaguely nutty and caramelly taste, lightly herbal, vaguely bitterish. Yeah, this isn't good.

On tap at The Magnet. Pours clear gold with a small white head. Very dusty, earthy dry grass/straw on the nose. Flavour has plenty of dusty, dry old grass, very earthy, dry straw. I really like the rustic profile, very enjoyable.

473ml can. Pours a slightly hazy gold orange with a medium, foamy, long lasting, white head that leaves soapy curtains of lace. Fruity aroma of grainy pale malt, grapefruit, nectarine and weedy hops. Sweet fruity flavour of grainy pale malt, grapefruit, pineapple, nectarine, honeydew melon and pine resin in a crisp, dry, bitter finish. Medium body with an oily texture and average to soft carbonation.

On tap at Luppolo. Pours murky blonde with a white head. Nose is very light with some notes of wild yeast and dried apricots. Flavour is also pretty subdued, mostly yeast coming through with some tartness from the apricots, which come through very gently. Fairly tame and uninteresting.

On tap at Luppolo. Pours clear blonde with a white head. Lots of crisp grass, straw, and pale malts on the nose. Flavour has straw, dry grass, and biscuit malts. Hopping is okay, slight bitterness near the finish, good body. Crisp and enjoyable.

473ml can. Pours a hazy pale gold with a medium, frothy, long lasting, white head that leaves thick, sticky curtains of soapy lace. Aroma of crackery pale malt, lemon, honey and floral hops. Sweet flavour of biscuity pale malt, grapefruit, cantaloupe, pineapple, grass and piney hops in a crisp, dry, bitter finish. Light body with a watery texture and average carbonation. Not a Pilsner fan at all, but this is an excellent Pils. Very dank.
