Foggy pale straw body and okay foam. Smells of earthy grain, mellow sugar. Taste is honeyed grain, soft sugar, ends sweet. Soft, okay, unusual for a lager.

Amber, slight haze. Just a thin head. Gingery aroma, nice bit of spice. Maybe nutmeg and orange, too. Or none of the above and just a really expressive yeast. Soft body and low carbonation. Touch of bitterness, though the malts still come across as quite sweet. The spice is more mild in the finish. All told, not bad, especially considering I'm predisposed not to like this style.

Very pale. Just a slight haze. It's quite appley, so really hitting that mainstream budweisery type of thing. A bit of pale malts, but the apples are more prominent. So not super crispy, but I didn't expect it would be.

Amber. A bit muddy looking. Nice thick head, though. There's some minty hop but dominant chewy malt and messy yeastiness. Boozy up front, wow, a punch in the mouth, and then chewy, so much sweetness. Like DIPA 20 years ago, only less clean. So lacking in refinement. This was much better last year. I don't hate it but it's quite the clunk.

Apparently this fits within the BCJP guidelines for Kolsch, which shows how out of touch BJCP is on the matter - I don't think any kolsch in Cologne fits this profile, so they are providing brewers with bad guidance, as they often do. This has a bright straw colour, just a thin head. You'd never get a head this thin in at any stube in Cologne. It's got a clean pale malt aroma, but on the palate it's way too sweet. There's an odd fruitiness to this, too. Not like Kolsch fruitiness, but like they ran this through a line that last had a strawberry beer. Strawberry is a weird taste for kolsch. So is this lack of hop - if you have less hop you need way bigger malt, like Muhlen. For me, it's a miss.

Moderate tartness, light passionfruit taste, okay balance but the tart base isn’t all that magical...kind of basic.

Draught at the brewery. Dullish hazy, hops are grapefruit and light papaya. Those notes continue on the palate, though they are buried under a muddled yeastiness, and as it warms, diacetyl.

Draught at the brewery. Very toasty, with lots of crystal malt. Quite bitter. Good balance, at least for this weird bitter, chewy style of IPA.

Smells of soft sweet barley nothing else, has a muddy brown body with minimal head. Flavour is modest sweet barley, milk chocolate notes. Mouthfeel has good carbonation but is otherwise empty. This is pretty mediocre, but drinkable.
