This is a chewy, aromatic, absolutely black Stout. Excellent coffee, chocolate, roasty notes are blended nicely with hops. Recomended for the experienced Stout drinker/lover only.

16 oz draft at Coasters Pub. Pours a pitch black color with a small light tan head and fair retention. A few spots of lacing. Nice roasted malt and vanilla aroma. Sweet taste, with almost more vanilla flavor than roasted malt flavor. Very smooth, clean, and sweet mix. A little thin for a stout but very enjoyable. Thankfully no coffee notes.

I'm almost sure I did this one already. Oh well. Stubby bottle. Hazy light pale big white head. Clean fresh hop perfume nose. Big sizzling sip is full of citrus bite. I'm thinking this is one of the better IPA I've done. Cutting & refreshing carbonation yet supplies a bitter citrus tongue. I hate IPA, this can't be an IPA? Even whites I've done before were nothing like this. Cool refreshing and leaves you with a lighter genuine IPA feel, almost like lighter old country pils. Nothing like most domestic low alky session IPA, much better and less veggie dullness. Right up there with Shock Top Wheat IPA, Saranac White IPA, Boulevard Smokestack Series: Reboot White I.P.A., Hinterland White Cap White IPA, old time fave Saranac Prism White Ale and of course Blue Moon White IPA.

15 June 2024. Bottle from a trade in San Diego; shared with Tim & Anke; many thanks to the former for hosting!
2021 vintage. Hazy black, big, frothy, beige head. Aroma of vanilla bean, dried fig, prune, fondant, espresso, dark fudge, charred wood, almond, tobacco, black olive. Taste has sweetish dried fig, prune, vague banana in a dark-chocolatey, almondy and hazelnutty malt body; bitter middle of fondant & espresso with the slightest umami hint. Peppery hoppy finish, more bitter fondant and coffee, whiff of vanilla which is reinforced by the oak treatment, and warming sweet whisky-like alcohol (rather than actual bourbon). Full body, oily texture, soft carbonation. Old school Imperial Stout with a rare aged profile, as opposed to the (often) more aggressive BBAs.
