On tap at Foamer's Folly, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out the absinthe upfront, along with a bunch of toasted grains, like caraway seeds and whatnot. Flavour is loaded with liquorice, caraway sides… yeah, that's a lot of absinthe. It's rather minty on the finish, with light roast. Weird stuff but it somehow works not too badly.

On tap at Foamer's Folly, pours a hazy bright peachy orange with a small white head. Aroma is authentically lambic-like, but there's some musty farmhouse notes and muffled cherry notes. Flavour is unusual, with a sort of lambic-like funk, tart cherries and a strange saltiness. It's certainly closer to a lambic than the average sour, but it's not convincingly a lambic — not that North American attempts at it ever are. Salty, tart and funky finish. Interesting; decent.

On tap at Foamer's Folly, pours a deep dark brown / near-black with a reddish tinge and a small tan head. Aroma brings out lots of balsamic, Worcestershire, woody notes, some red wine, and tart red fruits. Flavour is surprisingly on target, with lots of tart red fruits, balsamic and Worcestershire sauce, some woodiness and tannic notes. Appropriately tart, woody and tannic, with not too much acetic character. Very good.

473 ml can. Pours a dark brown with short tan head that settles quickly. Aromas of apples and cinnamon as expected, with a bit of raisins and soft breads malts. Metallic flavors of dry spice and crusty malts.

Okay clear brownish copper body and some average foam. Aroma is very weak sweet cracker, would be better if it was more prominent. Taste is weak cracker and caramel, ends vaguely sweet with a misplaced bitterness. This style can be hard to pull off, and I use this as an example.

Has murky dark brown body and some modest foam. Aroma is huge clove, vague biscuit, but the clove is too overpowering. Taste is more clove, deep molasses and biscuit. Clove lingers and it's smooth enough. Not bad but you better like clove.

Nice coppery brown body and some okay foam. Aroma is too faint fruity esters, nothing else. Taste is tart sweet biscuit and caramel ending dry with lingering fruitiness. An odd dubbel, a little too estery but still some okay elements in there.
