Dark amber with a touch of red. Smells mostly like diacetyl. It's a touch tart, with some hibiscus, and lots of diacetyl as well.

Too faint dark lager aroma, has good dark brown body and modest foam. Flavour is a sort of muddy dark caramel, everyhing is undistinguished. Mouthfeel is full enough and the alcohol is well hidden at least. This is not memorable, nothing stands out.

Smells of soft smoke grain and nail polish remover, has good foam on a cloudy gold body. Flavour is good pepper and wheat dough, alcohol is well hidden, hints of coriander. Mouthfeel is full and refreshing and not boozy. This is very nice, well crafted.

Sharp hoppy malt aroma, has good foam on a mellow dark clear copper body. Flavour is okay caramel and hops. Mouthfeel has crisp carbonation and good oiliness. This is more a pale ale than a bitter but still drinkable.

Nice aroma of bright sour hibiscus, has excellent pinkish white foam and a pinkish orange body. Flavour is good hibiscus, fruit skins, a little muddy. Full mouthfeel, okay carbonation. This is decent enough but could be more tart.

Tall can at Matt's. Appearance: almost clear golden with a white head. Aroma: fruity, nice malt and caramel character. Taste: along the same lines with noticable hoppy bitterness. Overall: pretty good.

473mL can, pours a clear pale golden blonde with a small white head. Aroma brings out herbal notes and some biscuity notes. Flavour is quite fresh, with herbal notes, biscuity, and a touch of vegetal character. Herbaceous on the finish, with a fresh character. Solid.

Dark reddish brown body and no foam, smells strongly of bad rancid coffee. Flavour is more sharp coffee, heavy carbonation, and sweetness. Way too thin and watery. A miss and a mess.

Can, from the brewery. Golden colour, thin head. Light bready pale malt note, hint of biscuit. Maybe a touch of green apple, bit fuselly but ok for new world maibock.
