Dark brown, with a thin head. On the nose, brett, chocolate, roast and wine barrels. It's got a bit of fizz to it - I'm thinking going old ale on this would mean not can-conditioning because it's clearly gone overactive at this point. After the analysis, though, it's a stout with bugs and some sourish component. Reasonable for authenticity, but not my cup of tea.

Poured from 473mL can. Slightly hazy orangey red with small white head. Rhubarby aroma, balaton cherry and rhubarb, yogurty, probably too old. Don't bother with this if it's not fresh. Minimal cherry character remains. Perhaps I'll re-try if I come across it at the brewery.

500mL bottle, pours a deep dark mahogany with a small pink head. Nose is full of dark red grape skins, citrus zest, mustiness, some wild bugs, and some tart berries. Flavour is full of musty red grape skins, citrus zest, wild bugs, and some tart berries. Lots of merlot character with just enough residual sweetness and a good amount of barrel and bugs. Excellent.

473mL can, pours black with a small tan head. Nose is big on the funky brett, followed by roasted malt, and some earthy undertones. Flavour is heavily roasted, with lots of funky brett and roasted malt duking it out. I'm also getting a subtle bandaid character underneath that might just be a function of the roast/brett marriage that doesn't work all that harmoniously. Odd one—not particularly enthralled with it, but I guess it accomplishes what it set out to do.

Can thanks to Ferris. Pours a hazy ruby with small pinkish white head that lasts. The aroma is earth, blueberry, spice, wheat. Medium body, wheat, jammy berry, earth, light tartness, good.

Tasting at Ryan's, can
Hazy golden colour, large creamy head. Strong passion fruit aroma. High level of harsh, pithy bitterness, mostly unpleasant in the finish, but also muting the malt flavour.
Overpowering Brett, unbalanced, not very good, despite the nice aroma.

16oz (thx, Matt!) @ Ryan's. Appearance: hazy golden with a white head. Aroma: funky, a bit sweet, juicy. Taste: very bitter coming from Brett that's overpowering everything for me in this beer, resinous, some fruits. Overall: nah, thx.
