Tasting at SF, Vancouver; growler
Brown color, clean. Bready, dry, a bit roasty, with some chocolate and some artificial vanilla, a bit too roasty in the final.
Unbalanced.

Hazy golden color. Decent IIPA base with quite clear diacetyl presence, minty finish.

Golden-amber with a slight haze. Thin head. On the nose, I get diacetyl and spicy hops. Bitterness, and floral hops. Touch of diacetyl on the palate, again with biscuity malts like the regular IPA. Good beer mostly - like if there wasn't diacetyl this would be solid.

Growler, pours a clear blonde with a small white head. Aroma is loaded with diacetyl, followed by piney hops and hop oils. Flavour is infected, with herbal hops, diacetyl and bready malt. Needs some serious cleaning up. No good.

Light amber. Not much head. On the nose, it has a fair bit of diacetyl, some earthy hops, and a bit of toasty malts. Fairly bitter, lots of toasty malts. Again, diacetyl. Not super offensive, but I wish it wasn't there. The bitterness and the spicy hop notes are both nice, and I like the toasty, chewy breadcrust malts. So clean up the butter and you'd probably got a decent old school IPA.

Growler, pours a clear pale blonde with a small white head. Aroma brings out piney hops, hop oils, herbal notes and a bit of butter. Flavour is along the same lines, with piney hops, some hop oils, biscuity malt and a touch of diacetyl. Decently put together, with an oily palate. Needs some cleaning up.

Growler, pours a deep dark reddish brown with a small beige head. Aroma brings out toasted malt and a touch of dry cocoa. Flavour is laid back, with toasted malt, some bready notes and a hint of dry cocoa. Very smooth and clean, but not overly interesting. Decent.
