On tap at Sooke, pours a hazy orange with a small white head. Aroma brings out a very nice German lager yeast upfront, with herbal notes, and bready caramel. Flavour follows through, with bready malt, herbal notes, and light caramel sweetness. Correctly brewed and clean. Good stuff.

Flavour is bright and biting, with a very nice herbal bite upfront, bready malt, and a hint of caramel. Biting, herbal character on the finish. Very good.

Dark roast and some chocolate. Deep amber brown with a small beige head. Dark chocolate, toasted cocoa and a long chocolate. One note, but solid.

Growler fill. Nice carbonated medium gold body and large white foam on top. Standard cardboard hop aroma. Flavour is a deeper and sweeter lager, sugary and hoppy, but still balanced. Full on the mouth, no lingering stuff. Nice, very drinkable.

Growler fill flown back to the mainland, slowly fermented in a Surrey fridge for a week to adhere to maximal flavour. Or whatever. This pours with a dark ruby body, clear, and some minimal head. The smell is of sweet bread, biscuit, vague coffee notes. The flavour is more murky biscuit with coffee, soft sweet syrup, mellow dark chocolate. Medium finish. Seems awkward and unrefined, by no means a proper baltic porter. Alcohol is well hidden at least.

Smells of soft yeast and grain funk, has a very nice bleach white head and white-yellow body with heavy carbonation. Flavour is nice soft grain with pepper notes. Good and full on the mouth. A nice saison, well crafted, simple but effective.

Growler from the brewer, brought back to the Lower Mainland the express way via helicopter. Pours a nice heavily carbonated gold, big bubbles, with modest white head on top. The aroma is a reasonably solid yeasty blonde grain, some fruity alcohol. The flavour is chewy grains, dark and somewhat earthy; heavy and sweet but still very viable. Mouthfeel is full and memorable. This is a decent tripel, not overbearing or unbalanced but very well done. Perhaps the yeast could just be a bit funkier to get that true old world feel....
