On tap at the brewery. Aroma is malty biscuity sweet cracker. Has okay foam sitting on top of a deeper clear gold. Flavour is good grain backed by vague flor hoppiness. It's good on the mouth though a little sweet. Likeable brew though not too interesting.

On tap at the brewery. Aroma is soft dry grain with no hops. Has a semi-cloudy yellow body with very modest foam. Flavour is very soft hops with some grain hints, but not much. Mouthfeel is packed by sugar, no crispness, just sugar. This is a mediocre pilsner at best.

On tap at the brewery. Has a soft floral armpit aroma with sugary vegetable hints. Soft copper body with a hint of foam. Flavour is big juicy hops, heavy on the sugar, with a soft malt kick. Mouthfeel is okay but sugary. It's not a bad IPA though a little too blunt.

On tap at the brewery. Nice semi cloudy golden body and very little foam on top. Soft faint yeast on the nose. Flavour is very soft yeast notes backes by vague grain and sugar. Possibly the most timid attempt at a Belgian ale I've tasted.

500mL bottle, pours an opaque dark orange with a small white head. Aroma reveals pithy dried fruits upfront, with toasted caramel and bready malt. Flavour is pretty similar, with toasted caramel, dried fruits, toffee, and just a hint of whiskey barrels. Not particularly complex, moderately sweet, and dry fruity on the finish. Solid stuff.

On tap in Vancouver. Murky medium brown with minimal head, it smells of very sweet brown sugar. Flavour is more sweet brown sugar followed by even more brown sugar. Alcohol is subdued however. Not complex but certainly a drinkable barley wine.

2019-06-08 500ml bottle at Alex's. Vintage 2018. Appearance: hazy golden with a white head. Aroma: sweet and bourbon, some caramel and sweet fruits. Taste: similar, sweet, almost no bitterness (awesome+), vanilla, creamy notes from the oak. Overall: this one is much better than on draught at P49. Very good! 2018-12-18 Taster at Parallel 49 shared with Andrey. Hazy copper. The aroma is candy bourbon, nice. Similar taste with some hoppy bitterness. Quite simple, one-directed, but still pleasant. 8-3-7-4-14=36

2019-06-08, bottle, courtesy of Sergey, vintage 2018, 11.2% ABV, 7-4-8-3-16=38
Mellow Barley Wine, very sweet, not as bitter as an American Barley Wine, not the same character of some classic Barley Wine, but with rich malt; and it has a very strong bourbon character. The final is fairly simple.
Very good.
2018-12-16, draught at Parallel 49, Vancouver; 11.2% ABV, 6-4-7-3-14=34
Hazy amber colour. The aroma is mild, hint of malt and caramel. Malt flavour, light roasted nuts, low sweetness level for a barley wine, lean body, luckily it doesn't show the high abv, it's not boozy, but also not much evidence of bourbon barrel, instead it's quite earthy.
Ok beer, some work is required though, for the next batch.

500 ml bottle. 2018 Pours a mahogany color with light head. Aromas of caramel, toasted oak and sweet grainy malts. Flavor of sweet toffee, soft bourbon, oak, and more grainy malts with alcohol in the finish. Not too much depth, but quite nice. Ready to drink.

946ml can. Pours an opaque black with a medium, creamy, short lived, brown head that laces. Sweet aroma of roasted malt, caramel, chocolate and oats. Sweet flavour of roasted malt, chocolate, raisin, oats and a hint of smoke with a slight bitter coffee finish. Light body with a creamy, smooth texture and soft carbonation. Tasty, well balanced and easy drinking.
