Can bought from the brewery in Sooke. Fine place. Nice white foam, good orange-ish body and some carbonation. Plenty of juicy hops on the nose, not complex but certainly suitable. Flavour is nice orange hops balanced by some crackery malts and a medium finish, full enough with oil and carbonation. This is a fine hoppy ale, can't go wrong at all.

Has a nice bright brown foamy head and murky darker brown body. The aroma is more vegetably barley, unrefined like they say, pushing up some mellow malt aromas that aren't sweet. The flavour is soft barley and coffee with a bit of a chocolate milk quality if it isn't sweetened. Medium finish and full enough on the mouth. I don't see what the squid ink is doing to any part of this, it just seems like a casual drinking stout to me.

Can procured at the brewery. Pours a muddy dark brown with decent light beige head. The aroma is vegetably malts, some brown sugar. Flavour is dark sweet biscuit. Full on the mouth with a bit of a dry finish. Quite nice, full of sweet malt flavour.

A little salty, kind of like an oyster stout with the squid ink. Pours black with good head and lacing. Coffee and roast, quite a bitter finish. Can from The Strath.

Can, from the Strath in Victoria. Dark brown with a rocky head. Looks nice. The nose suggests a complex maltiness, with cocoa, nuts, and a bit of sweeter dark malts. Relatively toasty, full body, balanced bitterness. Touch of coffee. High quality brown ale.

Tall can at Brian's. Pours a bit hazy golden with a white head. Aroma is weirdly herbal. Similar taste with a high bitterness. Bad.

Tasting at Brian's; can
Cloudy light amber colour. I like West Coast IPAs, I actually love West Coast IPAs, and that;'s why I hate this horrible vegetable soup.

Hazy, dullish amber, thin head. Very earthy aroma - some spicy, piney hops but also quite chewy. The hops are very spicy, the malts fairly chewy, touch of alcohol.
