A hazed rosey gose with a thin lacing white head. In aroma, sweet fruity mix of tart raspberry, light lactic notes, light Epsom salts. In mouth, sweet fruity malt with light raspberry jam, light acidity, light mineral notes. Ok.

355mL can, pours black with a small tan head. Nose is odd, with some boiled vegetables, celery, and toasted malt – something is quite wrong here. Flavour is all wrong, with plenty of boiled vegetables, toasted chestnuts, and rotting wood. This is all sorts of fucked up. Very bad.

Medium brown colour. There's a cardboard accent on this, maybe some roast but you really do have to look for it. On the palate, it's got a sharp sourness. Have you ever had carrot juice with a squeeze of lemon? That's the vibe I'm getting. In other words, not an imperial stout, like really not what they were trying to brew.

355mL can. Pours black with a beige head. There's bourbon, nuts, and something fucked up on the nose. Flavour has sour nuts, bourbon, stale roasted malts. This is a mess, something clearly went wrong with the barrel aging. This is fucked.

Vibrant amber colour. Thin head. Crystal malt and marmalade throwback aroma. That orange is nice, lemon verbena, some lychee. On the palate, it's got again that bright citrusy character. Lots of bitterness, and lots of sweetness, too. Not that chewy, actually, certainly less chewy than the aroma hinted at. Everything is coming together really well.

355mL can, pours a clear dark amber red with a small beige head. Aroma is pretty hoppy for a barleywine, with resinous notes, caramel malt, and bready notes. Flavour is on the drier, hoppier side for a barleywine, with bready malt, toasted caramel, and some earthy hoppy bitterness. Reasonably balanced with slight astringent bitterness on the finish. Good but nothing more.

355mL can, pours black with a large brown head. Aroma has some orange zest, some metallic notes, some weird funkiness, and a little roast. Flavour is infected, with sour brett and moderate roast. No notice of the bourbon – this is just the typical Quebecois-infected BA stout. Why can this province’s breweries not get their shit together in this regard?

355mL can from IGA Extra Famille Charles. Pours hazy ruddy amber with a white head. Caramel malts and a lot of grassy hops on the nose. Flavour has toffee, some bread crusts, lots of dry grassy hops. Pretty easy-drinking and well-hopped; nicely done.
