Brown hued. Toasted malts, sweet, toffee, light spice. Medium bodied. Finish is sweet toasted malt and light spice heat. An easy going Scottish ale but a tasty one, too.

On tap at the Collective on Tap, pours a clear pale golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out notes of toffee, followed by toasted bready malt. Flavour follows the same lines, with notes of toasted caramel, bready malt and a little vanilla. Nicely structured but rather thin. Okay.

Draft pour at the Collective. Shiny golden pout with almost no head.soft aroma, grains, no impressions of a big beer. Flavor is surprisingly mild, wheat, straw, mild apple. Slight bitterness and wheat linger. Lacks in flavor for a barleywine for me, but drinks easy. Pretty good.

Draft pour pint at Postdoc, on the night of the release. Pours a bright rose pink color with a patchy big bubble head. Amazed at the genuine cranberry aroma here, with a corny grain hidden behind. Flavor is pure cranberry juice, and a nice tart to pair. Cool, juicy, and refreshing. A little corn comes through. An easy slammer for sure. A nice variation of their kolsch, and even better, a nice unique fruit addition to a beer. Don’t see a whole lot of cranberry beers around. Nice to accidentally run in to one. I’d drink this again.

Draft pour pint at Postdoc. Pours a jet black with a tan active fizz head. Aroma is a ton of vanilla, cinnamon, and other holiday spices. Wouldn’t guess egg nog in a blind taste of this really. Cool, minty chocolate flavor. Mint chocolate chip ice cream porter? I’m in! More vanilla. Coolness is a bit of a licorice reminder. Drinks nice overall. Surprised. I thought this pint would last me much longer.
