Draft pour pint at the 192 lake trail taproom. Clear pale golden yellow pour with no lasting head. Soft, apple grain aroma. Flavor is light and crisp. Not a whole lot of flavor to pick out. Water refreshing. Soft, semi dry straw grain. All depends on how parched you are with this one. Pretty good as far as kolsch standards go. I’d drink this again, but I think I enjoy their flavored kolsch beers a little better.

Draft 12 oz pour at Postdoc. 9 bucks for it. Yikes! Hazy glden copper color pour with a soap bubble head. Fresh tropical fruit aroma, that is quite the invitation. Good blend of tropical fruit and bitter citrus hops. Soft fruit and bitter linger. Overall a super easy drinking imperial. Love the hop profile. Awesome stuff.

Draft pour pint at Special Brews. Pours a thick pink, purple color with a tinted foam head. Aroma is wheat forward, with a rich berry background. Flavor is initially medicinal, but instantly becomes full of mixed berry fruit, and a cool finish. Sweet cherry late. Juicy. Drinks super easy. So much berry, with base beer is almost unrecognizable. Tasty.

On tap at Chuck’s Hop Shop. Pours a cloudy gold with a light orange hue and a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma is full of grapefruit juice with light grains supporting. Flavor is also full of grapefruit juice with s touch of sweet grains backing.

Draft 10 oz pour at Postdoc. Pours a thicker burnt orange color with a soap bubble head. What an incredible concoction this is. Slightly tart tropical fruit and brett aroma. Flavor is a sweet tropical fruit, some fresh cherry like character, juicy up front, dry in the finish. Brett consistent, am complimentary. Hop bitter background, but hard to pick out. Another stellar style hybrid here. Damn this is good!

Draft pour pint at Postdoc. Shiny golden pour with a cream foam head. Smoked meats reminder aroma. Flavor is oft, smooth grains, coupled with wood chips, and a light peat. Cool and refreshing balance. Has a light fruitiness late that compliments in a weird way, but it works. A training wheels type of beer for someone who isn’t quite on board with the smoked beers, I’d say. Late smoked meats palate linger. Overall a very nice beer.

2015 version, draft poured at Postdoc. Part of their Barrel Fest. 5 oz. Pours a caramel copper color with active carb and a patchy fizz head. Very soft aroma of vanilla, and sweet malts. Creamy flavor with toasty malt, graham cracker, and spice hints. In a blind, I’d think this was a barley wine with no debate at all. So much barrel impression carried over. Dry, oak finish. Mild hop impressions throughout. Very fun to try. Hope to try a different vintage soon, and update. Unique, fun beer.

Draft 9 oz pour at Postdoc. I am definitely the type of person to show up at Barrel Fest, and order a regular pale. Figured this a nice in betweener. Turns out I am correct. Pours a glowing orange color with a painted white foam head. Excellent solo fresh hop aroma. Flavor is hops dominated up front. Grassy, but not to much. Soft soapy character. Total IPA for me. Hop, semi citrus, bitter finish. Pretty good stuff.

It’s been a year and a half since I had the original version of this beer, so I have next to nothing to compare to. Draft 9 Oz pour at Postdoc, during their Barrel Fest. Reddish copper pour with a quick fade head. Very soft aroma with some whiskey and subtle hop content. Flavor us a wonderful oak, and created cherry flavor, with smooth and sweet whiskey tones. Nice to see a low alcohol beer that packs a big beer punch in whiskey and oak flavor. All climbed over a solid rye background. Mostly dry finish. Much anticipated beer for me, and a very good one that was worth the wait.

Draft pour at The Collective. Pours a clear copper color with almost no head. Caramel malt aroma. Flavor is partially sweet, caramel, and a dry finish. Nutty in a way. Overall a good beer
