Re-rate December 2019, about 6.5 years after the last and this time at the source out on the edge of Chilliwack. The aroma is somewhat bright chewy barley, has okay dark brown body with modest foam. Flavour is brightish barley, chunky chocolate hints. Dry mouthfeel. Not bad, drinkable. December 13, 2019: 6/3/7/3/13 Old rating: Pretty cool that D.O.A. finally has a beer named after them! Has a good bright brown head and a nice dark rye-amber foggy body. Lots of bread, pumpernickel and dark grains, on the nose with a hint of water. Flavour is a great mix of bread notes with a dry hoppy finish. Brown ales often taste like watery mud to me, but this one shines. Well done. May 30, 2013: 6/4/7/4/14

Bottled. A hazy amber beer with a lazing off-white head. The aroma has notes of malt and caramel as well as lighter notes of hops. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt and fruit - primarily peaches, and dusty and citrusy hops, leading to a dry and bitter finish.

Hazy deep blond color. The aroma is light, corny, stale, grassy. The Pilsner flavor is totally missing, instead there is a light sourness (infection). Low bitterness. This beer is off. Pilsner only in the name.
