330ml can from National Brewery Centre , Burton - Another lucky dip tinnie for a quid. 8.0% version, clear gold no head. Cardboardy taste, slightly metallic. Not all bad though, for jus de vagabond exotique.

Bottle from the National Brewery Centre in Burton. Dark gold, clear with an uneven film of white head. Malty aroma, with some glue, whisky and a bit of metal. Sweet taste, not bad at first but becomes quite medicinal nearer the long finish. Sickly aftertaste. Barely passable.

330ml can from National Brewery Centre, Burton on Trent. Pours clear gold, thin white ring of bubbles atop. Aroma is moderately sweet, some corn syrup. Taste is a little slick and sweet on the palate, not as sweet, metallic and generally awful as expected. Quite balanced and drinkable in fact.

Flat dark gold. No head. Sticky, plasticy, alcohol, basically all the classic malt liquor characteristics but a dull mess.

Deep gold. No head. Plasticy, alcoholic aroma. On the palate, a lot of alcohol comes through, again getting plasticy. Meh. There’s worse.

Gold, not much head. Aroma is acetaldehyde and graininess. Light, touch of sweetness, “refreshing” in that pale lager in the tropics sort of way. Less offensive than some.

Goldish colour. No head. Small bubbles but looks kinda flat. Some gluey phenols on this one. Bland taste, again quite phenolic in the gluey/plasticy sense. Pretty underwhelming, even for industrial swill.
