Description
Our story starts with four friends, a collective passion for better beer, and a garage. Brewing off a 20L rig consisting of a pot, a propane stand and a few glass fermenters, the 4 broad-headed (aka big noggined) fellas honed their skills. Feedback was so positive that thirst quickly outgrew supply and the idea of opening a commercial brewery was born.

With a fraction of the capital advised to take on a project of this magnitude, the founders banked on their engineering prowess to retrofit and repurpose equipment in combination with a whole lot of sweat equity and late nights. In the fall of 2011, Broadhead Brewery kicked its doors open to the public in Ottawa, Ontario.

Over the past decade, we’ve been fortunate enough to be able to live our dream and share that dream with our incredible team and amazing customers. While much has changed since the garage days, our strong work ethic holds true, we remain focused on crafting high quality beer that’s innovative yet approachable, while leveraging the backgrounds of our founders to conduct regular feats of engineering.

Clean, golden colour with no visible carbonation, but a small white head, decent stay and mild sticky lacing. Getting some nice, fresh grassy aromas with a touch of lemon sourness, herbal notes - all over the light cereal malt base. The taste is a little milder, but still has decent flavours of the malts, with a tad sweetness, the citrus and herbal touch. Shows a tad unfiltered eventually, and the mouthfeel is fairly thick for how light this one is - somewhat creamyish. Not a bad 3.5% ABV light lager, that feels closer to a 5% one.

Not listed as Peach Mango on the can label, but you can get an aromas of those two stone fruits. Clean (with particles at last pour), light golden colour with a smaller white cap, average stay and minimal lacing. Mineral notes in the nose, with mild maltiness. The taste gives out the fruits again, a touch stronger, with the cereal malts lingering the background. All-around, quite a decent, fruity Kölsch, that is not overpowering, and quite crushable.

Can from the LCBO.
Pours a murky pinkish/orange, with a large off white head. Aroma is a lot of guava, grapefruit, and hints of sweet strawberry. Finish is lightly tart, guava, and grapefruit notes dominate, with some light cereals in the back end.

Can from the lcbo. Black pour, medium beige head. Roasty, but soft, cocoa and light vanilla. Silky mouth feel, silk carb, light to medium bitter. Now awful, but not great. Just a good session stout.
