Description
Our farm in Somerset sits among 180 acres of cider apple orchards at the base of Burrow Hill. The farm has been pressing cider for over 200 years. In 1989 we were granted the UK’s first ever full cider-distilling license. We have been distilling award winning cider into Somerset Cider Brandy ever since.

In the autumn over forty varieties of vintage cider apples such as Dabinett, Kingston Black, Stoke Red, Yarlington Mill and Harry Masters are harvested.

By the spring our pure juice traditional cider is ready to drink. To the best of our knowledge Burrow Hill Cider is the only cider to have won the annual national cider championships in Devon, Somerset and Hereford in the same year. As well as traditional farmhouse cider we make bottle-fermented ciders, a perry and an ice cider.

From plastic canister at Black Door, Helsinki. Colour is hazy golden with almost no head. Aromas and flavours: Fruits, apples and some sweetness.

Bottle 750ml. corked.Clear medium yellow colour with a small to average, frothy - fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, white head. Aroma is moderate to light heavy apple, sweet apples, red apples, thin ice cider alike aroma. Flavour is moderate to light light heavy sweet and light to moderate acidic with a long duration, tart, apple, apple skin. Body is medium, texture is watery, carbonation is soft - fizzy, finish feel has alcoholic notes. [20130216]

Polycask @ GBBF 2012, Great British Beer Festival, London Olympia, Hammersmith Road, London, England W14 8UX.Light unclear medium orange yellow colour with virtually no head. Aroma is moderate apple, sweet apple, light horse blanket and cheese. Flavor is moderate sweet with a average duration, swet apple, wood - oak. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is flat. Bottle, 75cl. An almost clear one, pale golden in color, with some bubbles. The aroma is quite sweetish with apples. Some orchard notes. Dry on the palate, quite carbonated and thin. Apples in the flavor, with some acidity. A rather boring one, but not unpleasant. 130216

Pours clear golden with a small white head. Aroma has notes of sweet red apples, sugar and yeast. Taste is light sweet, light sour with a very dry finish. Body is light, texture is thin, carbonation is soft.
