Pass Vale Farm, Burrow Hill, Kingsbury Episcopi, Martock, TA12 6BU, England
Description
Our farm in Somerset sits among 180 acres of cider apple orchards at the base of Burrow Hill. The farm has been pressing cider for over 200 years. In 1989 we were granted the UK’s first ever full cider-distilling license. We have been distilling award winning cider into Somerset Cider Brandy ever since.
In the autumn over forty varieties of vintage cider apples such as Dabinett, Kingston Black, Stoke Red, Yarlington Mill and Harry Masters are harvested.
By the spring our pure juice traditional cider is ready to drink. To the best of our knowledge Burrow Hill Cider is the only cider to have won the annual national cider championships in Devon, Somerset and Hereford in the same year. As well as traditional farmhouse cider we make bottle-fermented ciders, a perry and an ice cider.

On tap at the the London Cider House. Pours a clear straw gold with a thin white head that dissipates quickly and completely. Aroma has dry and slightly tart apple with a slight earthiness underlying. Flavor has dry apple throughout with a slightly thin finish.

500ml bottle. Work leaving present, from Bristol Cider Shop. Golden amber colour, short-lived white foam head that dissipates to a thin rim and aroma of apple, fruity, orchard notes, funk. Taste is sweetish, apple, earthy, with orchardy funk, leather, wood, and bittersweet tannins. Medium bodied, light carbonation, medium-dry tannic finish. Nicely drinkable.

From bag-in-a-box at The River Ale House in Greenwich, London, 27.01.22. Clear pale golden. White head is diminishing to nothing. Aroma and taste of sour apples, apple peel, green apples, earthy tannins, bonfire and ash. Waterish and astringent mouthfeel.
