Description
An independent, family-run brewery for over 110 years. True Belgian craftsmanship. That's Haacht Brewery.
On June 14, 1898 Eugène De Ro brewed his first top fermentation beer. Four years later he also started brewing bottom fermentation beer. His beers were such a hit that ‘Haecht’s Dairy Company and Brewery’ became one of the best Belgian breweries in 1913. In the fifties and sities there were numerous small takeovers and the Haacht Brewery beers were being distributed across the entire country. Thanks to the take-overs of breweries in the south of the Netherlands and northern France, Haacht Brewery set foot ashore in neighboring countries. In 1990, Haacht Brewery started the complete replacement of its production apparatus; the whole process was completed around 2015. Today, Haacht Brewery is a state-of-the-art brewery, inspired by its history and at the same time more than ready for the future.

330ml bottle as Haacht IPA, 6,0 % abv, bought at a local Mercadona in La Vila Joiosa. Shared with Esben. Off-white head over a clear amber body, rings of lace down the glass. Inviting smell of herbal hops and very mild caramel malts. Quite similar taste of oily hops and mid-sweet malts. Drying close with a little, harsh bittersweet bite. Medium bodied. Pretty decent (Apartment, La Vila Joiosa, 08.02.2024).

Small sample from 330 ml bottle, as Tongerlo Blond, at Vectura-messe. Pale blonde colour. Light and fresh aroma and flavour, notes of mild spices and a little fruit. Nice and refreshing, will sample again.
