Description
An independent, family-run brewery for over 110 years. True Belgian craftsmanship. That's Haacht Brewery.

On June 14, 1898 Eugène De Ro brewed his first top fermentation beer. Four years later he also started brewing bottom fermentation beer. His beers were such a hit that ‘Haecht’s Dairy Company and Brewery’ became one of the best Belgian breweries in 1913. In the fifties and sities there were numerous small takeovers and the Haacht Brewery beers were being distributed across the entire country. Thanks to the take-overs of breweries in the south of the Netherlands and northern France, Haacht Brewery set foot ashore in neighboring countries. In 1990, Haacht Brewery started the complete replacement of its production apparatus; the whole process was completed around 2015. Today, Haacht Brewery is a state-of-the-art brewery, inspired by its history and at the same time more than ready for the future.

Tastes like weak cherry cordial. Watery and thin mouthfeel. Not unpleasant, but not great.

The current Flandrien Of The Year - an Belgian regional award for cyclists is Remco Evenepoel, who actually abandoned the Tour de France earlier today, so maybe he won't be winning it next time. But he's free tonight to enjoy this full-bodied crisp enough deeper golden Belgian ale. Pale malts provide a subtle but impressive enough flavour with hints of bubble-gum and wood.

Withdrawal symptoms after departing France over two weeks ago now, so have raided the cellar for something continental and similar to what I was drinking there. Golden, hoppy-floral, herbal, excellent body, palatable strength.

Dorada, limpia, con espuma blanca de persistencia media, jabonosa. Aroma a levadura belga, recuerdos a pan. Efervescente en lengua, refrescando el conjunto. Sabores malteados, pan, y contrapunto especiado y con algunas notas de esteres frutales. Final alcoholico y retrogusto mas floral. Falla a la hora de disimular el alcohol.

Bottle at home shared with Laura. Red color, medium sized white head. Aroma and flavor are very sweet, cherries, a bit artificial. Meh. Not my kind of beer. Way too sweet.

Old rating from 06-09-16 - Brought back from my Belgium road trip last year. Poured from a 330ml bottle, a slightly hazy amber colour with a white foamy head. Aromas of fruits including orange & pineapple as well as grains, malts & yeast. Tastes of orange, pineapple, apple, grapes, light wine as well as hints of citrus, grains & spice. Aftertaste has a fruity alcoholic kick with a fair amount of bitterness. Overall, a decent triple, enjoyable, but no more than mid range in quality.

50 cl can. Funny artwork. Pale amber with medium head. Not to complex and drinkable.Citrus and malt flavour.A friend of mine from Rennes told me that a lot of people in Bretagne drink this beer cause is a cure for hangover ( I fail to understand that)
