Description
An independent, family-run brewery for over 110 years. True Belgian craftsmanship. That's Haacht Brewery.

On June 14, 1898 Eugène De Ro brewed his first top fermentation beer. Four years later he also started brewing bottom fermentation beer. His beers were such a hit that ‘Haecht’s Dairy Company and Brewery’ became one of the best Belgian breweries in 1913. In the fifties and sities there were numerous small takeovers and the Haacht Brewery beers were being distributed across the entire country. Thanks to the take-overs of breweries in the south of the Netherlands and northern France, Haacht Brewery set foot ashore in neighboring countries. In 1990, Haacht Brewery started the complete replacement of its production apparatus; the whole process was completed around 2015. Today, Haacht Brewery is a state-of-the-art brewery, inspired by its history and at the same time more than ready for the future.

Pours deep amber with a rich head. Light fruity and yeasty aroma with notes of almonds. Flavour is dried fruit and almonds leading to a dry, somewhat watery finish. Your typical Belgian amber.

Bottle from a local bottle shop. Fairly bitter for a Blond, malty aroma with some yeasty notes but not a lot going on. Medium boddy. Dry-ish bitter finish with a little sweetness. Drinkable but ordinary.

Keg at White Hart, Chobham. Clear light amber. Foamy white head. Aroma is vaguely caramel. Underlying sour (as in off) fruit. Light-medium bitter. Grainy. Some citrus. More gone off sourness. Light-medium bodied. Slick. Soft carbonation. Long dry slightly astringent finish. Wishy washy stuff. A bitterness tray can't really be bothered. Fruit that has lost the will. Poor.

0.75 bottle shared at home, thanks to my family for this. Kő egyszerű belga ale, kissé talán túl egyszerű is, és lehetne testesebb.
