Founded on July 1st 2016, Brouwerij De Feniks is all about Living your Passion (in our case : brewing the great beers we love and helping others do to the same) and keep doing what you love no matter what. As you only live once, you will find out at some point that it pays off on emotional/satisfaction and many other levels to follow your passion. Under adversity, if you stumble and fall, or even crash and burn, remember that you can Always rise from your ashes like the mythical Feniks bird as long as you keep believing and continue to live that passion... Sampled from bottle at De Paas. Black with tan head. Sweet deep roasted dark malts, massive licorice, some funky mushroom stuff. Big sweet and moderate bitter. Over medium body and soft carbonation.

Bottle at De Paas. Bit hazy reddish brown with beige head. Sweet malts, sugar, plums, mint, bubblegum, light licorice, aniseed, raisins, soft grass. Medium sweet and quite bitter. Over medium bodied. Quite unusual because if all the herbal and spicy notes but not bad.

Bottle shared at De Paas. Everything looks black in this cave. With tannish head. Sweet malts, dark fruits and cinnamon and spices, and alcohol. Moderate sweet and bitter. Medium body, buttery and a bit strange.

Bottle at De Paas. Almost black with big light brown head. Some roast, dark chocolate, lots of blackberries, light yeast, brown bread, light oats, mint, alcohol. Medium sweet and bitter with soft tart finish. Over medium bodied.

7 3 8 3 15 Bottle at Gekke Geit, Den Haag. Dark brown with a tan head. Aroma of overripe dark fruits, sweet berries, caramel, brown sugar, chocolate and malt. Flavour is above moderate sweet and moderate bitter. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

Bottle at De Paas. Bit hazy golden with white head. Light herbs, marzipan, soft spicy yeast, peach candy, light herbs and minerals. Maybe cornflakes? Something grainy, sweet and slightly rough in the finish. Under medium sweet, medium bitter. Under medium bodied with fizzy carbonation. Meh.
