Description
Not only was Dogfish Head Delaware’s first brewpub, it was the smallest commercial brewery in America. With our very first batches brewed on a system that was essentially three little kegs with propane burners underneath, we were brewing 12–gallon batches of beer for a whole restaurant. It proved to be more than a full time job and when the doors to the brewpub first opened, we brewed three times a day, five days a week! The benefit? Brewing on such a small system gave us the ability to try out a myriad of different recipes. Insert ‘off-centered ales for off-centered people.’ Our hunger for weird ingredients and venturing off the beaten path was just getting started.

Fast-forward to today and we’re still motivated by non-conformity. By spontaneity. By experimentation.

At every turn, our restless desire to create what hasn’t yet been imagined keeps us bringing new stories, new tastes, and new experiences to you.

Because we don’t jump on the bandwagon, we are the funky drummer.

Every day is an exploration. A thoughtful search through a crowded world, we search for that thing that makes us pause - that idea that excites us, the inspiration we can’t ignore. The journey can be unpredictable … but that’s what makes it kind of magical.

If you haven’t had the chance to taste Dogfish Head, find a beer, track down one of our spirits or visit one of our restaurants! You’ll quickly see why international beer writer Michael Jackson called Dogfish Head "America's most interesting and adventurous small brewery."

Grapefruit and pineapple. A little pine. Pours hazy yellow with pretty good head. Light bitter end. About as inspired and psychedelic as a Grateful Dead album. Tap at Midlands.

Pint can, lighter color pale slight haze. Nice big craggy white head does not fade. Nose is slight pine hop perfume. Taste is mild IPA fer sure. What is it with all this juicy stuff? Its kindah flat. I'm so tired of seeing hoppy beers labeled juicy. Its happy BS if you ask me. If I want juice, I'll drink juice. This is not juice nor juicy JMHO. Just because its bitter, a little syrupy and somewhat sweet, does not necessarily make it juicy. Go figger. Foolish moron, jackass idiot, blockhead dolt dunce. Oh well, its just another IPA-ish APA. If you want it to be an IPA, then say so. Forget about the facade of a style you designate on the can. Most APA are simply better behaved than this juicy crap. There, you have it.

12 oz can, 7/20/25. Clear golden, fizzy white head. Sweet, candied tropical fruit aroma and flavor. Pineapple, peach, grapefruit. Smooth feel. Easy drinking for the high ABV. It's solid for what it is.

Sample at Eclipse Company Store as part of Ohio Brew Week on 07/18/2025. Slightly hazy dull golden pour with a thin off-white head that recedes quickly to an outer ring. Spotty lacing on the glass. Aroma of grassy hops, citrus and malt. Light-bodied and effervescent with a mild grassy hop character and notes of grapefruit and bready malt. The finish is mildly bitter with a short citrusy hop aftertaste. Decent overall.

Very hazy pale yellow colour, moderate sized dense ivory-like white head; aroma of lemon, orange peel and fruity notes; taste has the same notes as can be felt in the aroma with some hoppy bitterness; refreshing one
