12oz bottle pours with a clear amber colored body that supports a thin tan head. The aroma offers up plums and figs and dates with some molasses and malts in the background. The taste delivers similar notes with spicy sweet earthy dates, plums, raisins and figs with brown sugar and candi sugar filling in the gaps. Pretty nice but it lacks the depth, richness and softness I enjoy in the style.

Sample at Denver Rare Beer Tasting VIII on 10/07/2016. Clear golden color with a medium off-white head that recedes steadily to a film. Partial rings of lacing. Aroma of oak, wheat, fruit and malt. Full-bodied with flavors of vinous oak, malt, wheat and yeast. The finish is oaky with a wheaty and malty aftertaste. Pretty good overall.
