BOTTLE 50 CL. Starts with a bold smoked aroma, smoked meat, also sweet chocolate and roasty coffee. The flavour is just as bold - well roasted coffee with and acrid bite, just a bit of smoke, moderate sweetness, balanced by a strong yet pleasant bitterness. No alcohol detected. The body is solid and silky smooth, never feeling too cloying or sticky. An excellent RIS from Russia.

Piligrim, Moscow 50cl: Pours black with light brown head. Aroma is booze and booze and booze. Taste is chocolate with a milky and sugary. Not too sweet considering. Alcohol is well covered considering. Not too bad. Aroma is pretty off putting though.

Piligrim, Moskva: first of all the beer name is wrong. It should be called Flood of Beer. Anyway, it pours dark brown with a beige head. Aroma is light coffe, kvass, some hints of chocolate. Taste is pretty light with some light roast. Molasses are certainly there. Tastes more like kvass than your average porter.

Piligrim, Moscow: from my girlfriend. Pours dark amber with an off-white head. Aroma is caramel and some meh. Taste is mediocre and nothing like a marzen or octoberfest that you would get in the states or Germany. It was kind sweet and a bit like vegetables. This is not very good. BTW Russia, there is already a well known brewer called Victory. I got another beer from them and hope it will be better.

BOTTLE 50 CL from YantarCoast. You know it’s Imperial when you smell or taste it - big malts, with notes of caramel and lollipop. Some tangerine marmalade, lots of tropical fruit, blackberries, and some zesty freshness. Though it is quite sweet, it is never cloying or sticky. The big bitterness does a good job balancing out the sugars, while staying mild and pleasant. The body is crisp but not tannic. Well done - horosho!

BOTTLE 50 CL. An arhetypal APA - some citrus and tropical fruit, some resins an light to moderate bitter finish. Not too intense, just enought to be drinkable and not seem thin. Good.
