16 oz can. Pours a very fizzy gold (medium gold, nothing special) with a thin head. The amount of carbonation rising is pretty ridiculous. Aromas are kind of odd... not the big, punchy resin I would expect from something that bills itself "West Coast IPA" but more of a pear and peach with a touch of almost Brett-like funk. Flavor is fruity... more of that sweet pear and peach or maybe nectarine, a kind of fruity with an edge that strikes me as more peppery than resinous. It's a pretty interesting one, to say the least. Not what I was expecting but I kind of like it.

Refrigerated 12 oz orange wax bottle. Aroma is bourbon, thick body, medium carbonation, and little lacing. Taste is bourbon, fudge, wood, and a little booze.

I assume this is the September edition despite the banner. Still awesome slow sipper, now with even more barrel notes, sweet coconut chocolate overdose and massive amounts of vanilla, some warming notes but ABV is quite well hidden. Great stuff, nice one

Undated but recent, 375mL bottle, drunk 1/23/26, as pictured.
Man, phantasm powder is such a strong, distinct substance. I immediately get it in the nose, alongside soft oak, rich vanilla and honey-like malt and a lovely, funky Brett which does work well with the phantasm and passion fruit. Sort of magnifies what the Brett is already doing. Nothing weird, not too much foeder, no big acid.
Malty and round in the mouth, though with good dryness coming from the powder, the oak and light-to-moderate Brett-like acidity. Citrus and white grape galore with biscuit and honey gently balancing. Juicy, rich, malty and complex with good lingering balance of malt, brett, oak and such. Really lovely, even fresh. This would age really nicely.

Canned 10, 11 or 12/17/25, can't tell which one. Drunk 1/22/26, as pictured.
Hmm, there's something weird in the nose. Or, likely, it's just specialty malt, but it smells a little corny, a little chemical-y to me. Yeah, just some sweet toffee/caramel, likely, with some light red fruitiness and light yeast intricacies. It does integrate better as it warms/breathes. Lightly peppery, grassy hop behind it.
Similar flavors to the nose. Still has that dry fruit-and-corn flavor that I don't love, mixed with a surprisingly bitter, grassy hop element. The texture is nice and malty, and the attenuation is great, but i kind of hate the flavors. Bitter grassiness and weird berries-and-caramel-corn.

US Pint can from Benny’s place, Kuala Lumpur. Poured a hazy yellow golden colour with a mostly lasting frothy white head and some broken lace. The aroma is grainy, tropical citrus. The flavour is over moderate bitter, light sweet, with a silky smooth, rich, juicy mango, melon, warm boozy alcohol bitter palate and a long bitter finish. Over medium bodied with average to soft carbonation.

Can from Tavour. Pours hazy grapefruit gold with a slight transient white head. Aroma of green melon and something like garlic. Med body. Juicy in an unusual way. Definitely bitter. Flavor is earthy/green melon, dank fruit, some citrus. It's really flavorful and very very complex for me. Super delicious.

750 mL bottled December 2014, batch 2, SP Stout Week line share, 2/18/24. Clear, bright marigold-hobey-amber. Little/no head. Big honey, light bland cardboard (oxidation) with peppery phenols and fruity cognac in the somewhat mellow nose. Surprisingly little/no oxidation in the flavor, and instead it's a classic English Barleywine character full of rich toffee, vanilla, fruit, raisin and dry phenol in the finish. Cognac slowly makes itself known but certainly helps add dryness and complexity. This has held up insanely well in the flavor and texture. It still has a pleasing chewiness and rich malt depth to it. No booziness.
