Reviewed from notes. Bottle purchased 02/28/2018 and consumed the same day.
This was poured into a tulip.
Appearance: dark purple close to black color with a slim cap of a foamy head which disintegrated practically immediately, obviously, no lace
Aroma: sweet & tart black raspberries, vinous sweet, funky, Brett/sour, and a touch of sweet wood
Flavor: blends the prior noted aromas to a fine tart to sour while a light sweet slides in for more balance; finishes sour/Brett-like with the black raspberries
Texture: medium bodied, great sipper! Light smoothness but nice level acidic sour tones nick the tongue just a little bit as I expected it to.
Overall: an absolutely awesome black raspberry saison I would definitely welcome again.

Reviewed from notes. Purchased from Winooski Bevy, VT on 10/20/2017 and consumed the same day.
Bottle to tulip.
Appearance: chill haze looking yellow color with a one finger white foamy head which dissipated nicely to leave some light lace
Aroma: honey, floral hops, funky/sour, musty vinous, light hay, there's the sour/Brett, lemongrass, sweet oak, apples, pears and a little bit of clean basement
Flavor: wraps up the prior noted aromas to a great funky tart to sweet vinous & floral quality with the honey and oak for balance; finishes the same way
Texture: light to medium bodied, great sipper! Greatly balanced smoothness as there is absolutely nothing acting assertively against the flow along the tongue
Overall: too bad I could only get one bottle, I would have wanted a second one to try later.

Can from Tavour. Pours hazy gold with a large white head that persisted. Aroma of garlic and pine. Med plus body. Juicy but not sweet. More than moderately bitter. The flavor combination is complex, yet pale malt support is discernible. Earth, lychee, green melon, pine, garlic, a little citrus pith. Amazing stuff. Excellent flavor.

Thanks Virby44 for the bottle! Taster showing pitch oily black with no head.

The nose shows intense notes of marshmallows and light blueberries.

The palate is lightly carbonated and full bodied, oily and slick. Oreo forward with baked notes of chocolate hateful and light vanilla. Amazing.

Clear brown
small brown head that quickly disappears
aroma: well blended soft velvety almost roasted malty note with a bit of boozy notes also. not very woody. malty but more dry nutty malty than roasted malty. is a barley wine so it fits that well. not much coconut, nothing stands out as coconut, but it can be found if you look for it. phenolic boozy hit if i sniff it fast. a abit too rough and boozy i think. Ignoring the boozy sting i do get a very soft and blended and velvety aroma that is complex but very tighly knit.
flavor is surprisingly sweet, notes of wood, roasted malts, chocolate, toasted coconut flakes, no boozy sting at all, salty notes, really good salty licorice, flavor is a whole other level than aroma. i can still sense the stingby booze when i breathe thrugh the nose while tasting - but the flavor is awesome. A bit to the sweet side, but totally complex and well composed and very rounded.
not worth the 999dkk i paid for the can - but i'd do it again if i had never tasted this one before. it is unique and it is made very well indeed. Nearly all other barley wines will pale if taste compared to this.
Edit. now tried the rest of the can after a day in the fridge, so more chilled. Even better. licorice and coconut is stronger. less boozy cold. increasing score.

Can from Tavour: pours amber with a whitish head. Aroma is caramel, grainy. Taste is lightly bitter, not too sweet. Pretty solid. Does what the style is supposed to do.

Bottle shared by Joen. Opaque black color, small beige to light brown colored head. Aroma and flavor are malts, soft roast, soy sauce lightly, "katjes-drop" some sweetness in there of course. Boozy. Full body, thick texture, soft carbonation. Good, but over the top, I'd say and definitely overpriced.
