Grabbed bottle from Gingerman to enjoy at home for NHL playoffs. Pours yellow with huge fluffy head and good lacing. Nice citrus and spice nose. Tastes of oak, white pepper, coriander, lemon, Brett, cloves, and fun. Drying finish and nice lingering spice notes.

Bottle. Hazy gold with a large off-white head that collapses but never disappears. Aroma is very bretty, with lemon, orange blossoms, melon, anise, cherries, pepper, prickly ash. Taste has some cherry sweetness, flowers, mild earthy tartness and peppery bitterness before a dry and bretty finish kicks in a fair bit earlier than I’d like. Lingering floral and woody notes are there too. There’s lots of good things here - like the potpourri at the very end - but the brett is overbearing and tedious. [3.4] Stoppered the bottle and tried the rest the next day. Things have mellowed a fair bit and the brett is much less intrusive, although still a bit excessive.

Received via MJ’s Rare Beer Club. shared with friends at cellar temp.

A - 5-Finger clear head, great head lacing just gorgeous! Light gold appearance, SRM of 2 and nice clouds of sediment floating around.

S - Centennial hops, brett and funkiness. There’s a spicey pepper smell as well.

T - Brett Yeast is so delicious! I loved drinking the drags. Dry hopped taste, minor breadiness, pine and pineapple. Graham crackers on the finish.

M - 100% carbonation on a mouth swish. Dry and very light bodied

O - Great but no A in my book. Solid and tasty. It’s missing some hoppiness that I expected.

750ml bottle. Hazy orangey amber colour with a small frothy white head. Intense brett aroma, accompanied by decent oak, spice and fruit notes. Taste is also ruled by brett, spices like coriander, clove, orange zest remain in background. Complex, with a variety of aromas, but for me with too much emphasize on the brett.

Bottle shared by Mike12da. Funky, tart, citrus, barnyard nose. Cat piss too. Very pale gold, glowing, with thin lace. Flavors of straw, orange and peel, minerals, white pepper. It was somehow mellower with the yeast added. A strange beast, but very interesting and good. This should be categorized as a wild ale, though.

Bought this beer for a tasting, but we never got around to opening it - do I save if for another tasting? - I ponder this for a bit - but, nah...it’s Easter so I guess I can open something special (ie. expensive) - sure, I’m an atheist that hasn’t believed in Jesus since the 7th grade, but fuck it - anyway, the beer pours a turbid gold with a fluffy, thick, lasting lace - nose is spicy and zesty hops, moderate chard character, some Brett notes of pineapple and herbal tones of chamomile, rose hips, along with some mango and tart apple - a really lovely aroma - moderate, mildly creamy carbonation - flavor is sweet up front, with some mango and pineapple - spicy hops and lightly peppery phenols rise up through the middle - strong chard notes rise and fall on the tail end, leaving behind a moderately dry finish swimming with complex notes of dry Brett earthiness, white pepper, sage, melon - a tad too much alcohol heat in the finish, but this is otherwise a very lovely beer - happy zombie Jesus day!

750 ml corked and caged bottle. Aroma is catboxy, citrus peel. Pours a slightly hazy gold with a large pillowy white head that leaves some nice lacework. Taste has a pronounced bitterness with an expected (obviously) brett influence. Carbonation is high, body is medium. This seems like the least of all the Anchorage beers I’ve tried so far, but who knows how much better it would be after a spell in the cellar.

750 ml corked and caged bottle. Aroma is dusty old brett, apple, pineapple, Pours hazy yellow with a medium dissipating white head. Taste starts out sweet but quickly turns bitter and finishes bitter, dry and slightly tart. Carbonation is average, body is medium. Good, but its resemblance to authentic Belgian Tripels is pretty minimal.
