Description
In 1853 Jean-Théodore Piedboeuf started brewing. The company mainly developed after 1905 under the impetus of Henri Piedboeuf and his brother-in-law Albert Van Damme. Through the years the company grew strongly through acquisitions. The Piedbœuf brewery merged in 1988 with the Artois Brewery in Leuven to form the Interbrew group. In 2004, it merged with Brazilian brewer Companhia de Bebidas das Americas (AmBev) to form the InBev company. In 2008 it merged with Anheuser-Busch, creating the Anheuser-Busch InBev group. This group has four breweries in Belgium, including the location in Jupille, which was renamed Brasserie Jupiler.

330ml can in Mont Noir, drunk before getting on the telesiege. Jupiler Apple, what a time to be alive. Taste mostly comprises cheap apple gummy sweets, mild radlery feel.. kind of tastes like a cheap kids novelty sweet drink without the sparkling carbonation. Ugh.

Can at tasting shared with Joes, Judyvv, Ansjelaah, DutchDrebus and Laura. Clear bright pale golden color, average sized white head. Aroma is apple (surprise!). Flavor is very very sweet apple. Tastes much more like a sugary super sweet cider than a beer. Not my thing.

Herber, leicht süßer Beginn. Etwas getreidig, wenig malzig, schwacher Körper. Erfrischend, fehlerfrei, etwas langweilig - gut trinkbar. 8/7/9/7/8/7

330ml can from Proxy Supermarkt in Brugge, Belgium. Pours a crystal clear pale gold color with a white head and great retention. Lots of scattered lacing. Virtually no aroma. This tastes like a standard pale lager to me. I'm not sure what makes this an "extra pils." No bad notes. Just very generic overall. Smooth and clean. Chuggable. Medium body. Medium carbonation. Very low bitterness. A fine pale lager, but a weak pilsner.

(sample, bottle) Clear brown. Minimal beige head. Sweet, malt, caramel, toffee. Light body. Ok, cola-like.

330ml bottle from Vanuxeem. Pours brown, tan head. Very traditional tasting bruin table beer.. mostly relying on a caramel wort sweetness with some tough brown bread in the shadows. Fine.

Pours golden with a huge fluffy white head. Aroma of yeast and bread. Taste has more clean yeast notes, somewhat grassy, and some mild floral elements. Palate has some lingering spice notes, vaguely Belgian-style. Good.

Nothing special with this beer that I have tried during some trips in Belgium. A classical lager for massive quantity, malty, watery, hop, drinking it at few opportunities during my trips in Belgium, a long time ago.
