Draft at CCB BA Big Sound release party. Very much Bolita with a smooth balanced addition of coconut. It poured deep dark, nearly brackish, brown with dark tan head. The aroma is sweet with molasses, roastiness, sweet nuttiness and a thick layer of coconut. The taste is big with sweet nuttiness, some rich malt roastiness, some caramel and a tasty addition of coconut. It comes off smooth and near velvety in body. The coconut is a very nice addition to this flavor and aromatic profile.

The fluid poured out of the brewery purchased growler a striking amber with tan head. The aroma is a big nose full of dark roasted coffee with much softer notes of varied roasted malts. The taste isn’t that far from being a cup-o-joe to start with plenty of dark roasted coffee. By midway and to the finish the coffee recedes back enough to reveal notes of roasted malts, sweet malts and a sprinkling of cacao nibs.

The fluid poured out of the brewery purchased growler a deep amber color with tall dark tan head. The aroma is full roasty coffee beans with a thicket of chocolate wondering around the periphery. The taste is really smooth and creamy. Yum, silky too bringing in small dark chocolate bars before roasty to burnt coffee goodness picks up and takes over the flavor. The roasty malts and sweeter malts are there behind the coffee and chocolate adding additional depth to the experience. It ends with increasing coffee notes. Wow this is smooth, interesting, balanced and allows plenty of the base beer to shine through the treatment.

32oz mini-growler shared by ygtmsm94. Unmistakable guava aroma. Murky orange-tan color, minimal head, though it has been growlered and mailed. The fruit and the hops really complement each other well, giving it a citrus overload with a tropical tang. Some toasty malt sweetness underneath. Excellent beer, shows great brewing ingenuity.

Bottle (marked as 80 or 81/221) thanks to JohnC. By far the best thing I have had from Cigar City to date, and lives up to the hype (this time...). Pours with a small tan head over a murky brown body. Aroma of bourbon, oak, cocoa, vanilla, dirt, and chocolate. Taste is chocolate, wood, bourbon and cocoa. Very well done. Light bubbles and slick mouthfeel.
