(Bottle 75 cl) Clear, dark chestnut brown with a creamy, off-white head leaving a handsome lacework. Nose full of roasted malt and caramel. Flavour has a sweet touch with notes of roasted malt and caramel. But things are in balance and the sweetness never dominates - this is a harmonious brew. 181105

Hazy golden, big foamy white head. Strong aroma of hay, citrusy - as sayravai said, something Orvalish here. Crisp, carbonated, citrusy hoppy, quite refreshing. There is something Fantome-like also there, maybe it’s just a bottle and label :)

A hazy amber beer with a huge orage head. The aroma is sweet with notes of coriander and oranges. While the flavor is sweet malty and spicy and fruity - coriander stands out from the spicyness, while I get peach, before a dry end sets in.

Hazy nut brown, good off-white head. Lemony hoppy, hayish aroma. Quite light palate, does not show alcohol much. Mild hayish hoppy, fruity, malty, almost like drinking hoppy lager or pilsener - summer drink.

Hazy golden color, small creamy white head. Suprisingly aromatic hoppy nose: pinewood, and grapefruits. Something between light and medium-bodied. Hoppy, buttery, alcohol presence more in the aftertaste. Fruity: grapefruits and apples in the taste. I expected some like saison, but this refreshing (for this ABV) brew is something else - almost like well made strong lager mixed with ale fruityness.

An unclear orange beer with a small white head. The aroma is sweet and very spicy - coriander stands out. The flavor is very sweet to start off, but the sweetness is very soon followed by a dryness, combined with notes of coriander, cloves, and hints of metal. It is not in balance. Thanks to Papsoe for sharing.

(Bottle 75 cl) Fully golden, a slight haze with a small, creamy head. Malty, sweetish start with some spices - obviously some coriander. Typical yeasty notes. Slight metallic tang which vanishes as the beer warms - thankfully. Ligh, hoppy finish. A bit inharmonious to begin with but gains momentum. 050605

(Bottle 75 cl) Amber coloured, slightly hazy with a rather small head. A somewhat unpleasant turpentine scent in the nose. Sweetish, malty flavours with some fruit and indefinable spices. A biting unpleasant alcohol. Not really well made. 010605

(Bottle 75 cl) Orangey golden, slightly hazy with a small, creamy head. Dry, bitter finish on a sweetish, malty base. According to brewmaster Alain Brootcoorens this is spiced with orange (not orange peel I believe) and coriander. I reckon the Angelus Blonde is the starting point for this. Lovely fresh and quaffable. And again the alcohol is deceivingly well hidden. 310505

(Bottle 75 cl) Brasserie Brootcoorens is a very unusual and laid back enterprise. The saturday my buddy Steen and I went to buy their beers, we were suddenly put to work helping in the bottling-line while master brewer Alain Brootcoorens kept feeding us huge glasses of Angelus Blonde and singing french "chansons"! Definitely worth a visit... This beer is a beautiful amber golden, slightly hazy with a full frothy head that collapses but never really vanishes completely. A soft malty feel and a short, dry hoppiness makes this a well-balanced and easy to drink experience. You can drink this as easilily as a lager, but please be aware, that it’s actually 7%. 210505
