Nut-brown colour. Quite weak head for a Belgian ale. Strange gluey aroma. Roasted flavour with a hint of toffee. A little bit of alcohol shows up in the finish.

Murky golden colour with loads of yeast sediment. Rich head. Faint yeasty citrus aroma, maybe there’s some bubblegum as well. Somewhat fruity flavour (oranges). Quite hoppy. The alcohol is very well masked.

Bottle. Refreshing acidic aroma. Appearance of apple juice. At first a little watery, but later it turns sweet and fruity.

Hazy orange-ochre; fluffy, off-white head, like whipped eggwhite, leaving shards of lace. Bit of alcohol, rather grassy nose, cookie malt. Sharp yeasty-estery taste, with a sourish edge. Sweet and cookie malts underneath. Slightly citrus-flavoured. Just as the "Matheret" beer, a raw, green flavour lurking beneath. Quite burning sensation, rather aggressive; medium bodied. They do something I don’t like. What is this raw, crude, aggressive flavour?

Pale yellow orange with olive shine; firm but small white head. Hops, garden herbs, raw peas and popcorn in the nose. Unripe or raw peanuts, cat’s pee in the taste; spicey too, but essentially something green and unripe. Not exactly agreable. Medium bodied at best, little burning sensation. I wonder what went wrong. Seems like something crude has been used, with disastrous results. Ought to do better. This beer is a one-off, though it has been seen outside the commanditors’ sales.

This very blond X-mas special has an outspoken nose and taste of untreated pilsnermalt. But in the flavour, the ale yeast, very fruity, dominates again, and repells any idea this might be a bottom-fermenting beer.
