Description
Founded in 2008, Camba originally served as showroom for brewery plant manufacturer BrauKon. Markus Lohner, founder of BrauKon and Camba, used the small brewery located in Truchtlaching to demonstrate clients from all over the world what BrauKon brewing equipment could do. With success: Camba soon became one of the first breweries in Germany to brew international beer styles and a pioneer of the German craft beer scene. Bottle, courtesy of fonefan. It’s a slightly unclear one, golden in color and with a small, beige head. The aroma is piney and citrusy, some maltyness in the back. A bit sweet on the palate, some alcohol shining through, and the hops dominating. Nicely bitter, lasting for a good while. Citrus peel, pine cones and some pale malts too. A really pleasant one, nothing I’d expect from Germany. Hopefully there will be more IPA’s in Germany, but I also hope they won’t destroy the German beer culture. 110415
