Description
Since 1926, brewing has no longer been a matter of chance at Bénifontaine, but rather is an art which has been passed down from generation to generation. From microbrewery to family business, Castelain Brewery has had a loyal following thanks to its artisanal beers and its respect for tradition. Thoroughness, patience, authenticity: these have been the key words for Castelain bières de garde and seasonal beers since the creation of the brewery.

Hazy blond colour, white foam. Nose of sweet malts, citrus. Fruity with hoppy finish, a bit metallic.

On tap @ Café De La Place in Bourlon with Rick. Hazy golden with a white head. Malty grainy aroma with some yeasty fruitiness. Sweet taste with a low bitter finish. Nice strong Bière de Garde

Mild fruity and flowery aroma, hardly hoppy, medium malty, not that crisp. flavor is malty, slightly flowery hoppy, slightly grassy. lager like bitterness in the end. This is really nothing special at all, Tropical blast is quite the overstatement.

clear golden colour, medium sized dense (off-)white head; aroma of citric-lemon zesty, grainy, bread crusty, grape peel and minimal dried apricot notes; taste of malty sweetness, some apple peel and hoppy bitterness; I am not 100% convinced, but it is drinkable, for sure

Zum Befeuchten ok, Pluspunkte für die Tasterfläschchen-Grösse. Neben Gluten wurde wohl auch grad ganz auf Malz und Hopfen verzichtet.

# 4188; 4/2024. Grainy, honey, sugar, slightly spicy aroma. Murky amber body; lacing whit head. Honey, spicy, malty, alcohol warmth. Very good biere de garde. 0,65 l, bottle, supermarket, Toul (Lorraine, France).
