Since 1926, brewing has no longer been a matter of chance at Bénifontaine, but rather is an art which has been passed down from generation to generation. From microbrewery to family business, Castelain Brewery has had a loyal following thanks to its artisanal beers and its respect for tradition. Bière 75 cl bue à la maison pendant le confinement. Jolie robe dorée, bière bien fraîche et houblonnée, à la frontière avec l'Ipa. Très réussie.

Bottle 33 cl. Pours a clear golden with a solid and lacing white head. This chicory aroma immediately revealing a bland Lager. Medium body, sweet malts but not many of them, clearly has adjuncts for a thinner body. Hardly any bitterness - the epitome of a flawless, sleek, international Lager. 020920

Bottle. Color: Clear golden, big frothy white head. Aroma: Malty, hop and yeast hints, orange. Taste: Starting malty, grainy, bit floral, biscuit notes. Moderate to over moderate sweet. After a few moments the hop(bitterness) comes in and gradually fades away the malty flavours. Moderate hopbitterness, some grassy, floral and subtle citrus fruit (mostly orange, tangerine). Finishing quite bitter, fruity orangepeel. Ok Bière de Garde.

50 cl. can @ the bungalow in St. Bonnet, bought @ e. Leclerc, st. Amand. Clear dark golden with a thin white head. Malty aroma with some light caramel. Sweet taste with a low bitter finish. Robust but with a certain nice touch to it.

Fles gekregen van Marc, gedeelt met Roelzie1986. Het is een helder oranjekleurig bier met een volle witte schuimkraag. Het heeft een moutige wat fruitige geur. De smaak is moutig, caramel, fruitig en wat bitter.

Bottle. Color: Clear orangish golden, white head. Aroma: Malty, yeasty. Taste: Malty, subtle yeasty notes. Moderate to over moderate sweet, light bitterness. Very light hints of stonefruit. Bit creamy mouthfeel. Medium body, just under average carbonation. Ok but not that special.
