Small sample from bottle, shared at Bor's. Pours a nice clear amber to brown colour and and off white head with little retention. Aroma's of peardrops, light hoppy. Retronasal it's fruity, peardrops, caramel, some hops. Flavour is light moderate sweet with light bitterness. Light bodied. Long finish, slightly bitter. True alt, not sure what Mikkel's doing was.

[ As Uerige / Mikkeller Gnavne Gamle Men ].
ABV: 5.1%. Clear medium to light amber colour with a average to large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, straw, caramel, dark malt, toasted, malty, light toffee. Flavor is moderate sweet and light to moderate bitter with a long duration, dusty, straw, sweet malt, caramel, fruity malt, hop bitter, medium dry, toffee notes. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. [20190830]

Bottle, best until 13.02.05. Dark amber color, small head. Vinous aroma with biscuit. Hoppy, very malty flavor. This beer has a good hop character, but that is cahllanged by the malt, the wine-like character and the biscuit and butterscotch flavors. World class beer!. Thanks Dortmunder, for providing me with this gem.

Bottle: Trink Gut Getränkehalle in Kleve. Slight coffee and caramel aroma. Very hoppy flavor, a bit raw. Hint of licorice, vanilla and metal. Long bitter aftertaste. uality alt, must be even better from the brewery tap. A later sample gave a flowery hoparoma, a persistant earthy hopbitter flavor with roast, a hint iof licorice and salt and an earthy flowery long lasting aftertaste. Brewery tap: wow!! Hoppy, oily and also malty. Only medium bodied, but what a power stuff! Low on carbon. Light flowery hoparoma. The true greatness of this beer unfolds itself straight from the wooden cask. all n all, an excellent altbier, fresh, complex and perfectly drinkable.

Brewery tap, unmarked glass. A-typical weizen. I smell and taste hops in stead of the obvious banana character. Absolutely dry with some orange fruit. Likeable and full of character.

3rd LCRBM. Firm flowery and earthy flavor. Long hopbitter aftertaste. Hoparoma with even a hint of smoke. The difference between this beer and the "normal" bottled Uerige isn’t that great. This might be a bit more intense.

Swing top bottle @ URBM, Oirschot. Best beer of this great session. Very malty aroma and flavor with raisin, oak, laurel, armagnac. Alcoholic, but with loads of herbal hops. Great balance, astonishing beer!

Bottle from Maracuja05, thanks! Dark amber color. Malt, fresh hops, tea leaves and a hint of citrus in the aroma. Malty yet dry flavor, hoppy with a hint of citrus, tea leaves. Long aftertaste. Brilliant, well balanced alt.

330ml bottle from RusBeerShop in Moscow. Pours dark brown with a tall beige head. Aroma is prunes, nuts, treacle. Taste is malt, prunes, raisins, vinous, warming alcohol. Light bitter finish. A champion. My favourite barley wine that isn’t a barley wine.
