Description
Andy Hepworth started brewing in Reading almost directly after University. He moved to Horsham in 1980 and within five years became the youngest Head Brewer in the country, winning many awards.
The long-standing tradition of brewing in Horsham came to an abrupt halt in 2000 with the sale of its last brewery and so Andy, determined to maintain that tradition, joined up with the key members of the brewing team in order to create Hepworths, an independent brewery aiming to build its own range of quality brands, while maintaining flexibility for contract work.
In 2016 they relocated to their current site which they co-locate with Goodwood Brewery, Laines Brew Hub and Ridgeway Brewing sharing certain facilities but not brewplants.

Bottle: Poured a golden with huge white head. Aroma is skunky. Taste is soggy cardboard, lingering aftertaste.

Bottle at the Brighton Dome. Strange to see such a low rating. I thought this was a fabulous example of a great Sussex best bitter. I love this style. Sweet malts blending with bitter crunch and light hops. Wanted a few more but hey couldnt interrupt the brilliant Nish Kumar with a beer run

Bottle from Aldi, Keighley. Yellow-golden with a bubbly-frothy head. Easy enough to drink, hoppy, but a little thin and watery at the same time.

From bottle at Gourmet Burger Kitchen, Spinningfields, Manchester, with JFE and BG 21.01.18. Golden. Diminishing white head. Moderate aroma and taste of pale malt, meadows and English hops. A bit waterish and metallic.
