Description
Stiegl is a private brewery with a long tradition. For more than 525 years, sustainability, regionality, local added value and above all the quality of our beers and services have been our top priority. However, this quality is only possible because we only use the best local raw materials. The values to which we have been committed since the brewery was founded in 1492 have made us Austria's leading private brewery.

The brewery's success is inextricably linked to the name "Kiener". The brewery has been owned by the Kiener family for more than 120 years. Since 1990 Heinrich Dieter Kiener (III) is at the helm of the company.

Stiegl Double At Home Beer#2 of 2. In anticipation of a trip to Salzburg next month a taste of what's in store. This Salzburger brew is golden-blonde in colour with a carbonation, traditional within its style, and has a decent body. Lager-malt abundant, light hop bitterness.

Stiegl Double At Home Beer#1 of 2. In anticipation of a trip to Austria next month am getting a taste of what's to come - this easy starter is all grapefruit in both aroma and taste, nothing too bitter, only slightly sweet. It's hazy juice-like golden in colour, slightly tangy and the fruit lingers long in the palate. A very stated radler.

[50cl can from my local Sainsbury’s.] An amber pour with a thick white head and plenty of carbonation; grainy aroma; sweet grainy taste; and a little herbal bitterness. A beer to be quaffed rather than analysed.

Clear gold pour with a white head. Smells of grainy malt and a bit of herbal hops. It has a malty flavor that’s grainy and bready. There’s mild hops adding a touch of bitterness. Light bodied. Not too bad, but it certainly doesn’t impress.
