Bottle from Ales by Mail. Pours yellow gold with a light haze and a thin white head. Some sweet, floral notes on the aroma. Taste has quite prickly carbonation, lemon bitterness, then a sweet linger. Bitter finish, still a bit thin, despite the oats and lactose.

Craft Islington. Bottleshare. Thanks to Dan. Hazy gold beer, good bubbly pale cream colour head. Light palate, semi dry, decent fine carbonation. Airy malts, trace of creamy sweetness. Pith and citrus peel. Dry finish. The dryness and pith make this hard work.

Creamy beige head stayed well on a still, dirty brown body. Coffee & aniseed aroma - quite bitter. Medium bodied, minimal carbonation, crisp and clean on the palate with a dry finish. Dark chocolate, bitter coffee, under ripe berries & bitter dark plum tastes.

Cask at Pig's Ear 2017. It pours near black with a bubbly beige head. The aroma is earthy, rich roasted malt, coffee grounds, cocoa, wood, dull smoke and some booze. The taste is dry, charred wood, umami, peppery spice, toasty, tar, chewy malt, cocoa, warming alcohol and burnt cake. Medium+ body, fine carbonation and oily mouth - feel. Decent aspects to it for sure, but it comes across a bit charred and chewy.
