A dense tan head on a near black body. The nose is a pungent mix of dark berries, caramel, shaved wood, chocolate and roasted malt. This is one of the very best in the Even More Jesus series. A complex mix of cocoa, dark ground coffee, chocolate fudge, ripe dark berries, a solid touch of hot chilis, butter and roasted malt are up front taste elements. There are balancing fruity hops, shaved wood and ash notes in the aftertaste. Thick and sticky like it should be.

One of the best of the Jesus series. A big complex nose - wood, bourbon, chocolate, candied fruit and trickle. Body is hear black with a cola-like, quick dissipating dark tan head. The thick mouth coating texture hits you right away. Chocolate, chocolate milk, maple, a slight bourbon burn, wood, vanilla and dark berries are all there. Distinct flavours well blended. Sweet on the finish.

Classic MC nose of malt, brown sugar and rindy hops, but it is a bit downhill from there. Biting astringent hops, grapefruit, mango and a bit of the advertised orange. But it lacks the orange liqueur smoothness and sweetness. Bites to the bitter end, but it is a bit rough.

On tap at Torst, Brooklyn. Hop driven fruitiness lead the taste profile with elements of lemon, orange, melon and a tough of cherry in the aftertaste. Those citrus and tropical hops are set off by a soft spiciness. Tasty and fresh.

On tap at Torst, Brooklyn. Predictably, not a classic pilsner. Classic grain and pilsner malt elements are punched up with pepper, spice and juicy citrus hops. Tangy aftertaste. Serious carbonation makes it even more refreshing.

A near black body with a miniscule dark tan head. The nose has a whiff of wood shavings, chocolate fudge and whiffs of peppers and spice. The lead attribute of this IS is integration and relative subtleness - not what I was expecting, but a lovely beer nonetheless. Coffee beans, a touch of molasses, chocolate, and hints of cinnamon and spice. The heat from the peppers rises slightly through the taste experience, but is not overwhelming. Mid-range body, not the dense fudge monster I was expecting.

A massive, rich barley wine. A nose not to be dismissed - toffee, roasted malt, cognac with an undercurrent of hops. The head leaves a lasting lacing, on a dense dark brown body. Rich, dense, thick and sticky, this is a barley wine to be reckoned with. The taste profile is varied, balanced, but powerful. Toffee, treacle, warming cognac lead the way. A more than solid sweetness has a brown sugar aftertaste. A concert of other dark taste elements - prunes, raisins, apricots and plums - are an appealing addition. Rich, bready malt. A hint of sourness mingles well with the sweetness. There are secondary hops underneath. Woof.

A well laced, pillowy dark tan head on a near black body. The nose is a harbinger of some of the things to come - fresh roast coffee, spice, cocoa and a hint of peppers. A brilliant taste profile that grows and grows. Milk chocolate, well roasted coffee, molasses, slightly burnt toffee and the habanero peppers are the core elements. Vanilla, cinnamon, other spices, nuts and raisins add to the blend. The heat and roasted goodness grow and linger. The taste just keeps growing. An interesting IS, but not up to ET’s normal standards IMHO. The nose has dark chocolate, a touch of coffee, caramel and malt. The taste has standard elements, roasted coffee, chocolate and caramel. Darker molasses, some dried fruit, a vegetal presence and a slight bubble gummy yeast are additional elements. A slightly burnt edge is a nice addition.

A fizzy tan head that dissipates quickly on an inky black body. Nose features candied fruit, chocolate and a touch of bubble gum. The taste is truly porter like - a range of dark tastes but not as dense and heavy as a stout. A chocolate lead is accompanied by dark berries, biscuit malt, caramel, molasses, slightly burnt butter and some fruity hops. There are hints of booze and cream and that unusual bubble gum element in a well rounded profile. A hint of acidity keeps the finish cleaner than stouts. If the nose on this imperial were not so mild, it would be rating with the very, very best.
