Draught. This might be the smokiest rauchbier ever. Pours a dark red and smells like - smoke. Rerate. Liked it much better in 2011

Draft at Waterfront Manhattan. Pours a cloudy brown with medium head. That classic Schlenkerla smoky aroma. Taste is same with malts. Good.

Bottled. The marzen is my favorite of the Schlenkerla line. Well balanced etc.

Draft. Golden pale w/medium head. Grass, malts, etc. Not as smoky as I expected. Ok but I prefer the Spezial helles.

Draft. OK but not as good as the marzen rauchbier. Hazy reddish dark w/medium head. Taste is -well, a rauchbier so smoky and sweet.

Pours dark, lots of head, taste is sweetish. Probably a little fuller than the rest of the schlenkerla stable.

Good, stable, off-white head over deep copper, clear beer. The smoke comes a mile out upon opening. Nuts, smoked wood, oak, wheat-like. Rauchmalz, smoked wood, sweet restsugars. Very faint acidity, and of course very malty. Finish has some cigarette ashes. Full bodied, good carbonation, feels stronger than it is. Nice, classic.

Coca cola, abundante espuma super cremosa, beige. Potente aroma ahumado. En boca es ligera, pero de sabor intenso, base muy malteada, e intensa y perfectamente ahumada. En una buena barbacoa es inmejorable.

Schlenkerla Erle 4.2%
This smoked schwarzbier has a milder smokey aroma than many of their other beers. Medium to light bodied with good chocolate maltiness and light smokiness.
This is good. Not as stellar as some but definitely a solid beer.
