1/VI/25 - on tap @ Artisan (Rome, IT), BB: n/a (2025-503)

Clear to little cloudy pale yellow blond beer, big creamy white head, stable, adhesive, leaving some lacing in the glass. Aroma: herbal, dusty, a bit spicy, grains, hay, a little floral. This is not what I expect when ordering a modern Pale Ale. Same as with the Rebel’s No Stress IPA, not fresh at all, or is it just crappy beer in general? MF: soft carbon, medium body, creamy texture. Taste: slightly fruity, herbal, dry, a bit soapy, floral, grassy bitterness. Aftertaste: dry, spicy, herbal, a bit gassy, meh. All the beers at Artisan so far (3) are very disappointing, and I get the feeling it’s because they’re all not very fresh anymore. That’s not why I go out of my way trying to find interesting craft beer pubs.

On tap at Flamèl, pours a clear golden blonde with a small white head. Aroma brings out piney hops, soft biscuity malt and a touch of dankness. Flavour is much the same, with soft piney hops, light dankness, and bready malt. Well-constructed and balanced. Very good.

From tap at Fresh Fest. Highly grassy aroma with fruity hops, citrus, pineapple, tropical fruits. Good dry bitterness, medium body. Crisp and refreshing, lovely.

Magus, mõru, tsitrus, kuiv, linnaseline, vesine. Nurgeline, joodav.

On tap @L'Elementare (Rome). Dorata, velata, schiuma bianca media, discretamente persistente. Al naso crosta di pane, cereali, erbaceo e leggero citrico. In bocca ha un attacco maltato esile e una chiusura amara caratterizzante, molto secca, pulita. Corpo leggero, carbonazione media. Keller atipica, ma non è male.

Lattina. Il gusto al naso viene attratto dal luppolo. La finezza olfattiva è normale e il modo in cui permane è sufficiente. Il manto birroso superiore è caratterizzato da una schiuma che resiste poco. La grandezza delle bollicine è a grana fine. Il liquido si presenta velato. Il colore è giallo dorato carico. Il corpo è strutturato. L'amaro è pronunciato. La forza gustativa è elevata e si prolunga in modo sufficiente. Le sensazioni boccali finali risultano luppolate. Il retrogusto è intenso. L'aroma in bocca porta i segni di miele, crosta di pane, frutta secca, agrumi, pompelmo, ananas, mango e frutta tropicale.

Pint at Ma Che pours a nearly clear with some lacey head.  Nose is nice and zippy and soapy with some citrus.  Light grist.  Flavor is real grassy, piney, citrus.  High carb with some bitterness.  Easy to drink.  7 3 7 4 13
