Description

Rhaner Bier – immer gleich gut!

500ml can from the Costco German Biergarten Collection, drank on 14th April 2025. Poured into a 'La Chouffe' Goblet (twice) at Sarah Janes place. Clean deep amber body, beige crust on each pour. Semi sweet malty feel to this Dunkel (as usual), decent body depth and a pleasant drink all round. Enjoyed it as the sun went down in Southern California. Earthquake here today, 5.2 on the Richter Scale!

Costco German Biergarten Collection, 500ml can. The box was bought for me by my daughter and Son-in-Law and this was the first of the 24 beers I tried (29th March 2025). Slight haze in the dull golden body, white crown on top. Light malty/bready aroma, taste also a little more malty than hoppy. All a bit weak and subtle in my eyes.

500 ml can from the Costco German Biergarten Collection. Last can. Pours a crystal clear dark mahogany color with a khaki head and great retention. Great lacing too. Dark malt aroma, as expected. The taste follows the nose: Slightly sweet dark malt flavor throughout. Simple profile and it works. Very clean, smooth, and easy drinking. Medium body. Medium-light carbonation. Low bitterness. Great way to finish the collection.

0.5l bottle, huge thanks F&L! Hazy golden-yellow body, white head of medium retention, fairly clear for a hefe, prickly carbonation. Caramelly, dusty-spicy aroma, bit lower esters than expected. Lean, dry, citric taste, bit wheaty, dusty, bit floral, spicy. Not much in terms of esters. Okay, drinkable, maybe traditional for its micro-region, but overall not really, no.
