Description
On a small abandoned farm back in 2002 William Frank and Else Birk started a small brew house focusing on quality and good craftsmanship. The brewery was not far from where the Grauballe man (a bog body that was uncovered in 1952 from a peat bog) was found - hence the name Grauballe Bryghus.
Grauballe Bryghus was in these premises until the year 2013. By then it had grown so big that it was time to move to larger premises where it is today.

500 ml bottle, from Christmas 2018, bought at Skjold Burne Hjørring in May 2019. ABV is 7.0%. Cloudy brown colour, large off-white head. Aroma of malts, brown sugar, spices and prunes. Fizzy mouthfeel. Moderately sweet flavour, again with notes of malts, brown sugar, spices and dark dried fruits including prunes. Very moderate hops.

Bottle 50 cl. Pours a cloudy amber with a small, off-white head. Nose has some berry notes and a hint of toffee. Medium body, toffee and caramel, but fairly balanced and not overly sticky - in spite of an almost total absence of hops. ESB? Seriously? Let's call it an Amber Ale. 041019
