On tap at the brewpub. An everlasting dense dark beige head leaves curtains over an almost black body. Some bonfire in the nose, quite a lot of licorice, a touch of toffee, as well as dark chocolate and coffee notes. Some honeycake. It’s full bodied, warming and with a little sticky feeling on the palate. Licorice, coffee, roasted malts, some chocolate and a touch of bodied in the flavor. Nice bitterness too. Lasting finish with chocolate, coffee, bitterness, bonfire and lots of licorice. Sure a fine one, although a bit heavy on the alcohol when warming up. 160116

On tap at the brewpub. A hazy amber colored beer with a small, dense, light beige head. The aroma is lightly butterscotchy, with dried fruits and toffee. Some baked apples. It’s quite bitter on the palate, with a faint butterscotch note, dried fruits and toffee flavors. Medium to full body, perhaps a tad heavy on the carbonation. Long fruity finish with toffee and butterscotch. Decent, nothing more. Too much butterscotch. 160116

On tap at the brewpub. A lightly hazy one, dark golden in colour and with a small white head. Some lacing. The aroma is rather heavy on the hops, almost alcoholic, with pine cones and grapefruit. Some faint malt hints. It’s very bitter, with lots of pine cones and a nice grapefruit touch. Lightly warming on the palate, full bodied and dry, with a soft carbonation. Long bitter and grainy finish. A bit intense this one, which was expected judging by the name, but still. Well, it’s a fine one anyway. 160116

On tap at the brewpub. It pours a clear copper body and a small, dense, beige head. The aroma has roasted malts, nuts, some bread and a hoppy touch, almost piney.
