Description
Aldeana is a beer with a local identity, originally from Montijo and inspired by the influence of Belgian beers. In 2017, the first editions were launched that made official what started as a hobby, motivated by an Erasmus experience.
Handmade, and with a more traditional approach, it doesn't go out of fashion, using only natural ingredients.

Bottle in Lisbon on Sunday 10th December 2023. Dark amber body, thin off-white head. Nose held some light herbal esters alongside a yeasty whiff. Taste was leaning towards maltiness with a mild hop presence. Nothing to get excited about, but it's not a bad beer at all.

Review based on the BJCP2021 guidelines (style 31A). Bottle 33 cl - Batch L1007 1107 (BB 07.24). AROMA: medium malty-caramel aroma mixed with fermentation by-products (yeast and esters). APPEARANCE: light amber color and clear. medium-low off-white head with low retention. TASTE: initial medium-low malty flavor with some toffee notes, mixed with medium-low to low esters (slightly solventy), and low yeast. medium bitterness with a dry and slightly yeasty finish. MOUTHFEEL: medium-low body with medium carbonation. OVERALL: a beer with distracting yeasty presence and not that much bread.
