Nonic pint draft at the brewpub in Columbia, Missouri. Pour is a hazed copper brown with limited head. Aroma is light nut along with floral hops. Delicate, nice balance. Taste is crystal malt along with floral hop and a light diacetyl taste that clears fast as it warms. Palate is medium to light bodied with low carbonation and a bit of lingering sweetness in the finish. Nice sessionable beer.

I had this as Ed’s Favorite IPA - not sure this perfectly fits the description, but its aliased. Nonic pint glass pour at the brewpub in Columbia, Missouri. Pour is a slight haze orange copper with an off white head. Aroma is leafy green dank hops, maybe some garlic mixed in. Taste is the dry bitter dank hops in front with a bit of light toasted malt and finishing with dry mineral. Really extraordinarily dry finish. Palate medium, unfiltered drying finish. Nice, bitter dry beer - a fresh dank IPA, which I like.

I had this side by side with the 2004 version at the brewpub. 2010 - Darker copper color, clear, can see through it, visible bubble carbonation, weak head retention. I would not peg it as a barleywine, came off as a stronger English IPA. The hops were definitely dominated by English varietals. The beer was compact in flavor, the English hops surrounded an rather clean (for the style) malt heavy brew. The malts very indistinct past that. The residual sugars were strong enough to cover up most of the bitterness. Not sweet though, drinkable, just not interesting. 7/3/7/3/14.

Pour is a clear gold with a large white head. Aroma is a little clove and spice with breadyness. Flavor is a dull wheat and none of the cloves show up in the flavor. Kinda finishes dry but uneventful. My samples of this style are few and far between so i would not even know of this is close to being spot on for the style.

Pour is a dark amber with a small white head. Aroma is some sweet malts with a bit of yeast. Flavor is sweet malts with no real hops. Finish is almost flavorless. They really like to make thier beers on the sweet side here.

Pour is a dark brown with a small white head. Aroma is all malts and not much else. Flavor is a very nice earthy malt with a little bitterness toward the end. This was very true to the style and my favorite of the 4 i had at Flat Branch.

Pour is a copper with an average white head. Aroma is some eathy malt and a dash of the hops. Flavor is a sweet malt with caramel and grain. An ever so slight hops comes out toward the end. This is diffanatly an English style IPA with a bigger sweet malt profile.

I got to say, as far as fruit flavored beer in the summer time go, this is actually good. Most brewpubs just phone it in but this is not your generic wheat with fake flavor added. This was straight strawberry puree which can be seen in the murky pinkish color of the beer. The strawberry puree comes out marvelously, not sweet but just real berry fruit. The base lager serves as the perfect platform for this concoction. Sampler at the brewpub.

Pint @ the brewpub. Comes black with a tan head, large head. Aroma is rich coffee with some light smoke and a b it of fumes. Taste is a bit less rich, more of a bit watery tobacco and coffee highlights. Has a medium thick mouthfeel yet easy drinking. Is it really that hard for all brewpubs to make a standard sweet stout at this level?
